maybe i am way off but FC strikes me as one of the most basic whiskies on my shelf. and i don't mean that it's necessarily the simplest, but one of the least acidic. often i find myself adding a twist of lemon.

I don't think you are way off. For some reason I picked up a lot of different flavors in it.

Maybe this batch is different, or it's just me, IDK.

Another thing I have noticed about my preferences. I'm finding that I gravitate towards the slightly sweeter profiles.

I like rye, and I like bourbons like OGD, but they will never be my first choices. They are on the dry side.

Wild Turkey, Woodford Reserve, Buffalo Trace, Weller 12, and this one, are all on the sweet side, and I like them just a bit better.

I don't notice the similarity to BT but I always keep a bottle on hand for the football season--South Carolina, don't you know. I'd have FC more often but I can't get it in the Buckeye state. And I agree it is a great value pour.
