Pappy Van Winkle release.....Today??!!

So my Bourbon Broker (Mom) called yesterday to say that our "favorite liquor store in Louisville was getting a small shipment of Pappy today. She was able to pick up a few select bottles this morning and wisk them away in total secrecy under heightened security.

Then on tonight's news (WHAS) in Louisville one of the big box stores in the area was hosting a "circus" style lottery for all their alocated bottles.

And yeah, today April 24, 2013.

This wasn't supposed to happen. Does anyone else have any information on this "unannounced release"?

And in case you missed it in the intro, we got ours.

Not sure why or how but we got a release here in Lex last week as well.

Mystery solved.

Julian Van Winkle‏@jvanwinkle4Only our KY distributor saved some bottles to be released before Derby. This is not a spring release.

I purchase a PVW 20 and an ORVW 107 today too. The bottles start with a B1 code. I believe that is an August 2012 code.
