I picked up a bottle of this awhile back but haven't opened it yet. It's 125 proof, 8 years old and was released for their 125 anniv in 1995. Has anyone ever tried it. If so, how was it. I'm trying to decide whether to keep it as a novelty or open it. If it is just so-so, then I'll keep it in the wooden box on the shelf. If it is "great", then I'll probably open it.

The most memorable bottle of Forester I ever bought, both the whisky and the friends I shared it with were excellent.

Rules? We don't need no stinkin rules.

Are you paraphrasing Treasure of the Sierra Madre or paraphrasing Blazing Saddles quoting Treasure of the Sierra Madre?

Took the advise and it is wonderful. Wish OF would release this regularly.

I suppose we should give credit to B. Traven who wrote the book Treasure of the Sierra Madre upon which the movie was based.

It's interesting that B-F was so ahead of the curve doing an overproof release like this in 1995, and now that these sorts of things are so common, they're not releasing anything like this anymore. I'd love to see this bottling return.
