pepcycle
I couldn't log on last night, but boy what an interesting brew I sampled. I was in Louisville and decided to wait out the 5PM traffic by stopping at the BBC(Bluegrass Brewing Company) in St. Matthews. They had some cask conditioned, hand drawn, Smokey Porter. Wow!!!! Served at room temp. Now this is Beer(and Beer is Food)!!! No need for dinner after two of these. What a way to start the weekend. BTW: Go Big Blue!!! Sunday is Louisville vs UK in football and I'm working on tailgate food and beverage. Look for me on ESPN2. I'll be in the East End Zone. I'll be standing next to the crazy woman with blue hair. tommy
Thanks for the link! They have Sazerac Rye listed under rye special orders; maybe we can get them to make the new Stagg available when it comes out.
OneCubeOnly
maybe we can get them to make the new Stagg available when it comes out. The one time I actually did a "special order" was when I got 2 bottles of Hirsch 16yo--the fellow who helped me basically said they can order just about any spirits as long as you'll buy a whole case. If I'm not mistaken, Stagg comes in a whopping case of THREE BOTTLES, so it may not be too difficult!
Paradox
Unless they consider a 'case' 4 three-pack 'boxes' (or some combo)... Which I hope for your guys sake is not the case. Everyone should be allowed to have Stagg touch their tongue, no matter where one lives.
Black85L98
While passing through LA on may way to TX I bought 1 bottle of Old Ezra 101 (good) and one bottle of Eagle Rare 10YO SB (YUM) a little light on the proof but full of flavor. Tonight it's ERSB on crushed ice.
kitzg
Since I love Eagle Rare 19, I bought a bottle of Eagle Rare 10YO this weekend. IT is 100 proof -- which is why I wonder what yours could be since you say it is a little light. The ER 10 was absolutely delightful!
Paradox
Since I love Eagle Rare 19 You mean Eagle Rare 17 right? Just want to make sure they didn't release a 19 year version before I go hunting! I have a bottle of both the Eagle Rare 17 year and Eagle Rare 10YO Single Barrel and both are 90 proof. Even at 90 proof, I still find both these bottlings superb! Since you have a 100 proof bottle (unless you mistyped) of the ER 10YO SB, I wonder if they made 2 variations at one time... bluesbassdad
Did you perhaps mistype?I have a bottle of the 10 y/o SB 90 proof (in the Stagg-like bottle) and a bottle of 10 y/o (not SB) 101 proof (in the stubby bottle). I haven't seen any Eagle Rare at 100 proof.Yours truly,Dave Morefield
jeff
Old Forrester 86 proof. I have long been an advocate of the 100 proof expression, but recently the profile seems to have changed. At least that is my perception. I now find it a tad hot and dry. In preparation for some company, of which several will likely want mixed drinks, I purchased a liter of 86 proof OF (original label). I am finding in this much of what I used to love about OF100, but still at a somewhat dissappointing 86 proof. I plan on trying another bottle of OF100 when I can find it with the new label, assuring myself of a different lot/batch.
Black85L98
It is 90 and too good. It will not last long. I got both bottles for $41 so they were a deal.

And we now agree on OF 86 having the flavor we used to crave in the OF 100, though at a lower proof. Hey, at least there is a decent backup!
