Show me. Show me a registered warehouse and receipts from a IN distributor for each of those bottles.

So in summary, you support the existence and use of the FB Bourbon Exchange while discouraging people from buying at legitimate retailers because you are only surmising that their shipping breaks the law? I had no idea that the modern marvel of efficient economics that is the FB BX, that you support, would fit your strict legal criteria.

Trying to derail the conversation with a sideshow argument about legality is an easy escape from addressing what actually started this discussion. We both really know your support of the FB exchange is about barriers to entry and $$, as you yourself pointed out here.

Lost Bottle:

A bit of friendly advice: knock it off with the whiney "elitest" comments and stop ascribing motives to others.... particularly when directing them at people that you don't know. It makes you appear ignorant and peevish.

I'm not sure what my wanting to purchase a car at the original sticker price has anything to do with anything.

As a concept, I support the Bourbon Exchange. I of course cannot openly on this site support any illegal dealings in the sales or transportation of liquor, and therefore cannot support the actual use of either liquor stores flaunting the law or any unlicensed sales by individuals.

That said, I'm sure that there are many people who might find the option of person-to-person sales, state-to-state shipping and international shipping attractive ways to access bottlings that they might not otherwise be able to try, if only any of those options were legal.

But this comment seems to support flipping by individuals. It also simultaneously expresses happiness that a person could not get what they wanted by legal means because it would be financially advantageous to the flipping individuals.

Sarcasm doesn't transfer well to print.

... in addition to looking at the membership of some groups, provides all the context that is needed to form a conclusion.

So, if an SB moderator happens to be a member of said "groups", should we consider them "Officially Sanctioned"? Or should said moderator be sanctioned for being a member?

Thank you for the thorough and exhaustive research. (I think sarcasm can travel well at times)

Please note we no longer are able to ship to the following states: Iowa (IA), Colorado (CO), Minnessota (MN), Missouri (MO), Montana (MT), New Mexico (NM), Nevada (NV), North Carolina (NC), Oklahoma (OK), Tennessee (TN), Wisconsin (WI), and Wyoming (WY).

What we have learned here so far:

  1. The internet badly needs a sarcasm font.
  2. Those who should know better still have not learned that joking about something that others find to be serious can lead to great misunderstandings.
  3. Straightbourbon had a massive ADD and free association flareup today with the multitude of obligatory Office Space references.

The takeaway is that it doesn't matter who here is a member of BX or what their standing is in either place. This kind of bullshit pettiness and selective fact presentation is why we have requested that members keep BX details out of the Straightbourbon forums.

Everyone is advised to stick to the topic at hand in this thread. Also, if you want to drag BX nonsense back here, you do it at your own peril.

Appreciate the summary, i couldn't keep from laughing and jumping back and forth to determine if i "should" be laughing.

Back on topic; Too bad they have limited the ship to locations. But surprised a store this size (which i would think shipped a lot of product) had made it that long without limiting their destinations. When i first got into bourbon last year, i was confused to put it nicely of all the different stores with different interpretations of the state laws.

Thank you globalguy for the on topic chatter. I just shipped a EC12 handle to my dad for his b-day in Jan. That is why I was so shocked when I was trying to order a few value pours today and got shot down. Hence the original post. I did my first order from TPS in November on a Cyber-Monday deal and was fortunate to get some Kentucky only pours. I loved every sip of that order and did it a few more times this Dec.

I thought "TPS Pain" was the name of a rapper.
It is. He and his crew are from Kentucky. He goes around pouring shots of low shelf Kentucky only BIB's. He talks about all us "suckas" that can't get what he has at his corner store.

Not a font but a Sarcmark emoticon - link.

(Course, that is only good if everyone knows what it means/uses it.)

Strange, I live in Ohio and have had party source ship to me. But, Ohio is not on either list? Going down there today, I'll ask Jay if I see him.

Yeah that's weird, it seems most everyone ships to Ohio
