geereg
It seems appropriate to pour out a little American whiskey today in honor of those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. What will you be pouring today?
squire
Don't know what I'll be drinking but know who I'll be saluting.
Meruck
In honor of this day I just poured a 1942 Old Taylor BIB, and as I drink it I raise my glass to those who gave the last full measure. Please remember that today it is less important what you drink, than what you drink to."For no man is truly free unless he fights for the freedom of another man." ChainWhip
I was referring to your "Don't know what I'll be drinking" bit.:-)But back on topic. A big thanks goes out to all our active duty service people & veterans (ranging from those that paid the ultimate sacrifice to those that bear scars we cannot see) - thanks for your service and for keeping our land free.I don't have any bottles open that scream "America" (like an Eagle Rare 101 for example), but will likely be pouring bourbon or rye today - or maybe I'll find a suitable cocktail to imbibe. Meruck
Certainly, my MOS was 11 Bravo. That means Mr. Squire served in the infantry and carried the burden for those of us who did not. ................Thank you!!(just in case you were wondering)
ChainWhip
Yes indeed... Thanks Squire and all you veterans on SB!
Flyfish
Started with a pour of a masterful blend with some serious age on it. Will finish off with some ER10 in honor of our vets. Well, maybe won't finish for a while yet. They deserve more recognition than we can bestow with just a dram or two.
HighInTheMtns
Starting out with the last of a sample bottle of Eagle Rare 101. Seems appropriate, and was even given to me by a veteran. Thanks to everyone who has served!
GaryT
Enjoying one of my older drams - EC18, in honor of those who have fought and continue to fight so that we may enjoy not only our freedom, but such fine whiskey. :usflag: :toast:

Yeti
Nice spreads all around. I'm drinking wine as there were several open bottles left from the party last night. It doesn't keep nearly as well as our favorite spirit. I'm eyeing a nightcap with an ABV over 15%...
dmarkle
We killed a bottle of BT by the campfire last night. A great way for it to go.Last year around this time I met up with a pair of guys who were camping and stand-up paddleboarding from Key West to Connecticut to raise money for the Wounded Warrior project. An insanely extreme thing to do, and for such a great cause. Luckily at that time I had the better part of a bottle of Van Winkle 12 which too was enjoyed by the campfire. I think I can safely say that was the best few drinks they had on their journey!
Danger
Took a long weekend where I shared a drink at the bar with a very young new marine, his father and my fiance. The courage of soldiers is inspiring, and their work is much appreciated. I was drinking Macallan 12.

mbroo5880i
Yeah the whiskey is nice, but that wide plank heart pine table is amazing. Tell me more about it please.I agree! Wow on the whiskey and wow on the table!I am visiting Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge for a few days. I am surprised by how limited the bourbon offerings are in restaurants. I opted for WT101 at all of our stops yesterday. It will get better since we are heading to Frankfort/Lexington on Thursday.

Bourbon Boiler
Enjoyed some Rare Breed on Rough River Lake, KY over the weekend. It's a fantastic getaway place close to bourbon country for those looking to "disappear" around Central Kentucky.
