Rkkingsley
I've seen that pic before too, but I can tell you that the new member who started this thread didn't post it in the other place where we've all seen it. He's just someone who is looking for some info on a bottle. I was merely stating how clever I am. By no means do I know everything. I barely qualify for the "knows something" category. Also, I'm guessing he hasn't received the bottle yet and thus can't provide close ups. This is judging from the date of the other post and the assumption that he bought it online not in person. In other news, welcome to the fold, Bontrager! I've learned a ton from these guys.

I'm guessing that this particular Old Fitz is from 1986 Edited May 31, 2013 by HighInTheMtns

In other news, welcome to the fold, Bontrager! I've learned a ton from these guys. I will provide close up pics this evening. Bottle is in my possession, I just happen to work 70+ hours a week, acquired the bottle yesterday, and posted the original pic quickly out of enthusiasm and excitement. bontrager
It's already been covered, but it wasn't a good decision to make this your first post. As you can see, people are still suspicious of your motives. Please continue to participate, and this rough start will surely be forgotten. This forum is way more fun than that other place. Hope your new bottle of Old Fitz is good drinking! :toast:Duly noted. I'm a history buff, what can I say, it's part of the reason I became so intrigued by bourbon in the first place. The history of this craft is fascinating to me. Will definitely post tasting notes when I decide to crack it open. For now, I'm enjoying just admiring it.

Just found my first real dusty last week so I know how you feel. Kinda neat to hold some history/americana in your hand. Again, welcome.

HighInTheMtns
Why the crickets? What board? Meruck
Just curious, on what basis would you make that assumption? Not directed at you bontrager, at least not directly. There has been much written here about the high prices from those posting on the FB bourbon exchange. Please remember this site is over populated with satirists, one liners and ass holes. (myself in the later), once a thread gets going the originator can feel besieged when many are simply poking fun at the most recent posting. Stick around, your skin will thicken and you will almost certainly have an opportunity to throw some back.

YMMV. Edited May 31, 2013 by bontrager
squire
All in good fun though, all in good fun. If we limited our posts to Jack Fridayish recitations of only the dry facts after first triple checking to ascertain their veracity this place would be about as interesting as listening to someone sing in a monotone. But I think even he would agree that prolixity to the point of obfuscation is a practice to be eschewed. Right? Ooops I used an emoticon.
