AAA10 TPS and AAA10 standard side-by-side. The TPS is slightly sweeter while the standard is slightly drier, and they're both stinkin' good!

I'm trying to polish off this bottle of 4RSmBLE. She has served us well. Thankfully, she has a twin sister.

After a few solid Darkside pours earlier,I'm home and most content with a big boy pour of EC18 in the glass!

Last pour of Bowman TPS (disappointed in general...glad to see it gone), followed by some OGB BIB.

A flask of WSR7 while being a groomsman in a friend's wedding today. Now relaxing at home with more of the same after a busy few days of wedding festivities.

Drinking an old fashioned with AAA10yr, a syrup of half turbinado sugar, half raw cane sugar. With bitters, no cherry, no orange. It is delicious. I agree with Bourserker: my bottle is quite dry compared to other BT products I have open and a bit of sugar opens it up. I'm normally a neat bourbon drinker but this is nice, stirred with ice, none in the glass. A poor man's sazerac I guess.

About finished up a bottle of Four Roses Small Batch, and halfway through a bottle of Angel's Envy BevMo special blend.

had a shitload of people over for a spicy chicken fry and a night of playing Cards Against Humanity ( a game for people who love being politically IN-correct ).....i almost got rid of the rest of my EW BIB, had some OGD 114 and blindly gave some to some friends for samplings, and a friend brought over some Old Pulteney scotch he brought back from a Scotland trip. scotch just aint my thing....i know little aboit scotch, but even if i knew nothing, "peat" is still the word id use first to describe it.

the wussies, no one wanted any of the KC 120. theyre mostly a wine drinking crew anyway though

Just cracked open the OWA SB that I bought at Cork 'N Bottle in KY yesterday. I'm blown away by it. This is better than any OWA or W12 I've had yet. Whatever the case regarding the "Lost In The Warehouse" story, this is great bourbon. I'm sad that I only bought 1L.

Damn, i'm sad i didn't read this before stopping in there today. Got a bottle of BT instead.

Having some BMH, i'm just smart enough to figure this HAS to be Beam product. Blind tasting it's OGD BIB.

Finished a blind tasting of BT vs ER. Found them incredibly similar. Preferred the nose on the ER if I had to pick one (just ever-so-slightly more complex?) and preferred the palate on the BT if I had to pick one (it was a bit softer with the caramel more up-front). Makes me wonder if this is an incredibly ordinary ER, or if the two are typically this close.

Had to work this morning due to 40,000 Boy Scouts invading WV for the next 10-14 days. Snuggling up with AAA 10YR ... nothing like having an old friend to listen to your complaints.

Interesting. I always pick up more oak in the ER and more corn in the BT, even in blind tastings. Never really considered them to be similar in taste, but maybe I need to revisit...

While admittedly, I have add less ER than BT, my impression was the same. I have actually tasted them side-by-side. However, while I liked the ER a little more, there wasn't enough of a preference to opt for ER over BT. Of course, cost plays a role.

Got around to opening my 2011 THH. A drop of water opens things up and I'm really enjoying it!
