Started with some EW 1783 10yr before moving on to some Hancocks PR (courtesy tasting of the old man!) Like it well enough, but not sure enough to buy a bottle. The EW 1783 10yr is growing on me though!

Is this a discontinued bottling? The EW 1783 I can find is NAS ...

Yeah, it's history but the 10 year has been around awhile so it should be available as a dusty for some time. The brand was created by Parker Beam and was his favorite expression in the days before the small batch movement.

At The Foundation in Raleigh with Danger and Swan. Everyone had FRSB LE 2013. Initial reactions ranged from good to very good. I'm on ECBP 134.2 now. Hands down my bourbon of the year. Not my favorite released this year, but definitely the best value.

Just poured myself a glass of that as well. definitely enjoy the oaky caramel, a hint of sweet, maybe fruity, but I can put my finger on

Now set a bottle of THH 11' on the counter for a follow up

GTS and followed up by a A.Bowman 18 GS,just felt like a high octane evening, maybe a 17yr Bowman up next to fully scorch the palate for good. All small 30ml pours I want to remain vertical by the nights end.

Sittin' and sippin' with a solid pour of Buffalo Trace, and thinkin' that this whiskey freakin' rocks.

Love the BT also down here, great value for money, and its versatility, neat, rocks, mixer or cocktail, it is very good and in my top 5

Ezra Brooks from Medley bottled in '88... first with Vernor's ginger and bitters and then a pour on its own. In 1989 this bourbon won a gold medal at the International Spirits competition in London, which was a big deal. Deliciously congeneric with fruits and rum. Moving onto a single barrle OWA and there will be a few others.

First time having a Willett Single Barrel, 8 year 117 proof. I've passed up a few of these in the past, never again will I make that mistake..

Spent the day cleaning a half foot of water out of my basement and a couple of neighbors after a wicked storm last night.

Hitting up some Centennial before bed as a reward.

We had a party and bourbon was the spirit of choice. I had HH 6 year old BIB and Blanton's. The top choices were Blanton's and Rittenhouse Rye BIB.

Willett bourbon for me is tough - have had some stellar bottles, and some that were quite ordinary (although expensive). Recommend if you can find a barrel that you like, picking up a couple if you can! Wished I had done that before.

Last night I opened one of my bottles of Parker's 27 year. What great wood in this bourbon. And it has to be the smoothest bourbon I've ever had. This is an Excellent bourbon.

Finishing up a Willett 11 year old. This took some time to appreciate, but I think I'm going to miss it.
