Kalessin
Great day, great weekend. Finally cool enough to sit on the porch and drink bourbon without ice, and I'm enjoying a pour of EWSB vintage 2003. Great bourbon, decently priced.
hn4bourbon
Had some VOB86, VOB90, OGD114, ETL, FC103, WTRB, BH, and JPS18batch16 over the weekend. I've got to say I am really enjoying the VOBs. Over the weekend, I enjoyed the 86 proof a little better over the 90 proof. I felt that it was more "open" compared to the 90 which tasted a bit more "closed"...not sure if that made sense. Since the 90 proof was just opened this past weekend and the 86 proof has been opened for a couple months now, I'll have to continue to compare them as time passes. I also really enjoyed the JPS18 batch 16. I enjoyed the OGD114 but didn't get a chance to really know it. So, I'll have to spend more time with it.Edit: Oh...I forgot to mention that I also got to have a couple pours two weekends in a row of PVW 15 year at a restaurant. I enjoyed those pours as well. zillah
Finally got to opening my JPS18. I am really disappointed. I paid 5x the price for JPS18 than I paid for W12 and I would rather drink W12. I think I just got swindled.

ChainWhip
OFBiB - it's actually better than I thought it'd be... There's gotta be some more honey barrels of this aging in HH's rickhouses - hope they make this a semi-general release aka LarcenyBP in the future. tanstaafl2
I have batch #10. I also have another unopened bottle of #13. :smiley_acbt: I have, and like, Batch 13 although it seems like there was a time when there were hand written batch numbers and printed batch numbers that were the same number but it wasn't clear if they were the same batch. Definitely have to expect some wood in these but mine seemed to have a decent balance. I believe mine was the earlier handwritten number. At least it looks handwritten! Who knows these days? Kalessin
FRYL last night while cooking dinner, a nice and easy summertime sipper over ice.Hmm. Ya know, once there was a time when I thought 80 proof tasted strong, and most of the whiskies I had around were 90 proof or less.
