Just cracked a FR 2013 LE SB. Damn it's good. On my second pour already. Spicy. Long finish.

A couple new-to-me pours at a bar tonight: Bulleit 10 and Hirsch Small Batch Reserve. I won't be buying a bottle of either although I was pleasantly surprised by the Hirsch.

Please share your thoughts! There seem to be a lot of options in their price range. I have never had either so I am curious about what you found good or bad.

I didn't expect much at all from the Hirsch. It tasted older than I expected, but in its price range there are far better options.

The Bulleit 10 was OK, but choosing a FRSB over it is a no brainer to me, especially for less money. For the same price get a barrel proof Four Roses with similar or even more age.

I think I'm going to start off with a small pour of WSR from '95 and see where it goes from there.

Can't go wrong with that! On the fence between the OGD 86 '82 and the WSR '95. Unfortunately, they don't make them like this anymore...

polishing off the remnants of an ezra 7/101. one fat pour left. if im still conscious after that, i may have some OGD 114. i am debating on what to take to the family reunion tomorrow. its the wifes family, most of them older distant relatives and not from KY, so i dont know how many or if there are any bourbon drinkers at all, so i am debating on taking a 200ml bottle full of OGD 114 for myself, or picking up (and trying for the first time) a bottle of Fighting Cock and taking it along, as thats plenty to share as well....

My daughter was here last night with some friends, one of whom is a bourbon loving Aussie, so to promote international relations we had a few goodies...Weller 12, DSP16 Old Fitz BIB, PVW15, WT Tradition, 2012 FR LE SmB, and PHC Blend of Mashbills. I think Four Roses has its new biggest fan.

I plan on it. Looking forward to the football season more that you know. I have season tickets so I will be up in Gainesville doing some tailgating soon!

Where do you usually tailgate? We've had season tix since '84...can't wait.

a little 4R LE SmB 2011 after taking and posting the pic in a watch forum to follow up a watch/Col E H Taylor Small Batch picture

I missed 2012, but am looking forward to 2013's release soon.

(watch is also limited edition of 1000)

You'd just break it anyway!

Only if it belonged to someone else. I don't break my own.

Looks good, but would be better with Carpano Antica! I think I'm going to go make an EC Boulevardier...

Started the evening with a healthy pour of some OGD 114 and have moved on to FR 2013 SB.

Wife's out of town and had the bourbon buying jones (but plenty of bourbon at home)...found a bottle of EC18 on the shelf, walked up to the counter with it, put it back. Bought a $4 pint of Old Taylor instead.

Guess I'm drinking Old Taylor tonight. :smiley_acbt:

Century Bar tonight. Started with Town Branch, then EWSB '99, and finished with WTKS. All in all a good night, Cbar is always a good time.
