I expect I will be around long enough to read posts from those wishing they had stocked up on EC 12 back when they could.

Given HH's practice of "stocking out" then showing up with slightly older vintages for 3x the price...i've considered it. This happens to be a local store pick as well. They did well.

A little 4R OBSQ to get the taste of Forgotten blend out of my mouth.

TPS FRSB OESQ for me. Started the evening with a pour of Bourbon and a cigar with a friend at a favorite local joint.

I see what you're saying (if you are referring to the EC18), but I would stop short of calling that a "practice". Unless, there are other instances?

Fair enough, practice is a bit harsh. The last year has seen them hold back 18yr, then launch 21yr at roughly 3x the price as well as ECBP which is choice barrels of EC12 without water added for 2x the price.

Do I blame them in the given market, nope. But doesn't mean I'm happy about it either.

Had a pour of '11 PVW15 with dinner and now finishing off the night with some '10 THH. Not a bad night!

I've already bunkered several bottles from a store with both a particularly good batch and the cheapest prices I've seen for it locally.

As for what I'm drinking, I'm giving my first bottle of ETL it's trial run tonight.

Glad some other people who like WT Tradition spoke up. I like it so much I went back to the bottle tonight. It's got a lot of flavor and a lot of rye.

Just finished my bottle of Elijah Craig 12. Going to have to get a replacement or three..

Ah well off to the empty bottle thread :(

Cool --- I grew up in Maine (southern area, near Old Orchard Beach). Arcadia is right near Bar Harbor, right?

Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park are both on Mount Desert Island, but it's sort of all called the Acadia region by us tourists. I haven't been to Old Orchard Beach in years, but it's lovely there, too...

Took a day off to drop the dogs off for their "do's" and spent the next 5 hrs shopping with the wife. Finally home and back in the EC12.

Nah, think I'll leave future blends to distiller mistakes, Gary, and nights at the AWS.

This f'n guy over here...

Forgot to actually mention the menu. Started the first morning in Vegas with 4oz of Old Scout TPS barrel 362. When I arrived yesterday I poured a small taste of SB blend. Good decisions all around this far...

Well, good drinking decisions at least.

Continuing on the rye-bourbon parade - some OGD 114 with a little GTS on deck to wrap it up. TGIF!

WT 8 and some monkey beer by the fire pit.

Dang it if I shouldn't start up the outdoor fireplace tonight. It's downright chilly here. I had to put on some sweatpants and a long sleeve shirt! Pu$$?, I know... Started with an ETL, and upping the heat whiskey-wise now, with an ECBP.

Old Forrester Single Barrel. So far maybe be the most underwhelming expression from B-F. Get it while you can, it probably won't last. $7k a barrel.
