Old Forrester Single Barrel. So far maybe be the most underwhelming expression from B-F. Get it while you can, it probably won't last. $7k a barrel. :confused:

I had a feeling that's what it meant, but I don't think I've ever heard of it. I'll stick with OF Signature/100 proof (for about $11-17 a bottle) from what you've described.

First a Barton Manhattan with dinner. Then Old Fitz DSP 16/24 while chatting with the neighbors on their front steps. Just came in to to reload with some WTRR 101 and going back to be social but a little splash of Mellow Corn is cleasing the palate while I post :cool:.

Dang it if I shouldn't start up the outdoor fireplace tonight. It's downright chilly here. I had to put on some sweatpants and a long sleeve shirt! Pu$$?, I know... Started with an ETL, and upping the heat whiskey-wise now, with an ECBP.

Went to a cookout with friends tonight. A few bourbon drinkers but beer was the drink du jour. I opted solely for bourbon. Larceny, then HH 6-Year BIB. Home, now with an AAA10 Year pour. Larceny was the favorite of those who drank bourbon.

Got swayed into picking up a bottle of the EH Taylor Small Batch on a friend's recommendation, and since it looks like I won't be getting Stagg Jr or OFBB this year, I needed something on this Friday.

Well, I have to say I'm disappointed. Major BT funk on the nose, hot, not much interesting going on. The last bottle I had of Eagle Rare was amazing and so much better than this, I could've bought almost two of them for the price. Hope this gets better with airtime.

I'm about to pour a side-by-side of Buffalo Trace. I'm honestly scared its going to be better.

Had a pretty epic day out at some bars. My buddy and I decided to see what we could find around some of the neighborhood bars. In order we had Parker's 27, Parker's Golden Heritage, Old Rip 107, Woodford Maple Finish, EHT Tornado, Handy, Dickel 14, and Parker's Blend of Mashbills. I'll be feeling it tomorrow but we found some awesome stuff. Hands down deal of the day was the pour of Handy that I got for only $9!!

I once got a Handy for $9 and thought it was a good deal, the antibiotics I needed afterwards set me back about 10 times as much though!

Can't say I've heard of "BT Funk" (usually it's Beam) -- I've had some BT bottles that were a bit more musty/dry than the average, is that what you mean?

Indeed. And I rescind most of that comment after having a few drams. I actually really like it, and definitely more enjoyable than a selected barrel of the BT.

For some reason, the only CEHT offering that has hit me right was the Tornado. The barrel proof, rye, and small batch came across as overpriced and ordinary (although I didn't get a "funk" - is that the grassy elements you get with BT, but turned up too high?)
