mbroo5880i
I may switch to Tequila and Absinthe...Only if you want to get totally f..... up. Strasburg didn't last long? Looks like you are behind. If you are lucky, Storen will come in. Then it will be rally time.
whiskeyagonzo
Cracked open a Riit BiB because I needed something different. I also am a bit of a rye whore.
HighInTheMtns
In the garage listening to an absolutely crazy Braves/Nationals game on the radio with a 4R 40th. Ain't even through the 2nd yet, and we're 1:20 in, both starters gone, beanballs, 150 total pitches, cats and dogs living together, mass hysteria!!! I may switch to Tequila and Absinthe...Just remember, Joe... If Bryce Harper asks you if you're a god, you say YES!

smokinjoe
Just remember, Joe... If Bryce Harper asks you if you're a god, you say YES! Tonight, god for the Nats was some chubby dude with a mullet named Tanner Roarke. Replaced Strasburg, and K'd 6 in 4 inn and had an RBI double. Sheeze... Anywho, I'll salute your Post 1K with a pour of WT Tribute!! Congrats, and thanks for your great participation, here! :toast:
Sasquatch
Drank some pre-fire HH BiB gold label after dinner tonight. '89 with a fake tax stamp. Very oaky for a 4 year. Wish my company at the local wasn't so busy, that could have shared.

T Comp
Had to make an appearance at a work related midafternoon open house party and it really was more chore than enjoyment. I am welcoming being back where I want to be, at home, with first some ECBP-gift shop-120.9 proof and now some 4R. The 4R is my own vatting of two higher corn but different yeast single barrels about 2/3 EQ and 1/3 EF (my own way of dropping the unnecessary O and S letters) and is outstanding...as was the ECBP. 393foureyedfox
celebrated our first date anniversary with the wife over a dinner at one of our favorite nice restaurants. fried calimari rings with roasted peppers and garlic and a sweet garlic-pepper sauce, mushroom risotto, and a big fat neat pour of Booker's. Every time i have some of that, i swear its the best thing ive ever tried. Too bad it's $50 a bottle. But, having it as a special occasion drink makes it more memorable and enjoyable i guess

Special Reserve
Yesterday and today a little pour of WLW 134.8 prior to and with the morning coffee. Yesterday afternoon a nice pour of GTS 141.8 over cracked ice.
Phil T
Yesterday, I bought and drank my first try of EWBIB. The taste profile is very similar to HHBIB 6yr, just a little thinner mouth feel and a little lighter in color. At $2.50 more then the HH, it won't be a repeat purchase. tanstaafl2
After picking up my allotment of GBS ETL along with a couple of ETL's from the 2nd barrel I had a little SBSBSBS.It included the GBS ETL pick, the 2nd ETL barrel pick, a standard ETL off the shelf and for fun a bit of the inaugural GBS EC12 (which is closer to 15yo).Started with the EC12 which was quite nice, dry, a bit of oak/tannins and had a dry and somewhat short finish. The GBS ETL was a completely different profile of course with the rye spice right up front, a bit of caramel and a spicy and longer finish than the EC12. The 2nd Barrel ETL was similar of course but a bit less rye spice and just a bit less complex for lack of a better word. The off the shelf ETL, usually a favorite, was downright bland compared to the two barrel picks which might have been the biggest surprise of all. The blend of many barrels really seemed to subdue it. Or maybe by then the palate was on overload...The GBS ETL was the obvious winner among the three ETLs although admittedly this wasn't a blind test. squire
Well, yes, if they can get the same or better price for NAS they're gonna do it and should be fired if they don't.Doesn't mean I hafta like it though.

Vosgar
Enjoyed some Bulleit Bourbon while out to dinner last night with friends. I'm seeing this at more and more restaurants lately and it's nice being able to have some Four Roses bourbon instead of the usual MM or KC.For dessert we had Banana's Foster made with brandy (can't remember the name). It was good, but definitely not up to TomH's GTS version.
