Had a little tasting with a friend of some 2012 WLW, WT8, Ezra B 12, and now some OE7.

How did they rank?

Unfortunately they rank in the order of how unlikely I'll ever get more of them.

WT8 then WLW. Then probably OE7 then Ezra B. The OE7 is actually somewhat similar to WT8 but without the long tobacco finish. The Ezra B reminded me a lot of EWSB only more expensive.

Sippin' on a newly arrived GBS selected Elmer T Lee. My excitement to finally be able to taste this selection is tempered by the sadness of his recent passing. This has a wonderfully sweet caramel and toffee front, with a nice sizzle of spice upon finish. I think Me. Lee would have approved of this pick.

I really like that Pendleton 1910 rye as an easy drinking "summer" rye but it doesn't seem to get much love around here or in the rye thread.

You are right it doesn't get much love and I would say for good reason. A 100% rye should not be dropped to 80 proof it becomes too thin. However when the weather is just right it works as well as a glass of lemonade. Plus I think the 4R I had before helped lift it up a bit.

On my third pour of ECBP tonight. Finally found 2 bottles today, and after looking at the other bottles I have open (39 at the moment - not sure if that's good or bad) I couldn't bring myself to have anything else. I need to find more ECBP.

hit the store for some new things to try today. first up was Charter 101. not bad at all, especially at $15. second is Fighting Cock, even better, and at $17. FC is definately a HH themed taste, but somehow a bit different. the 'bite' feels higher than 103 proof, which is what i like (the bite). this may be a repeat purchase.

then a shot of KC120 just for comparing the three....

the KC120 definately feels hotter, and the taste a bit better. but for neat drinking, i think this FC can hold its own, especially at the price

Well, there's three bourbons we can agree on (OGD 114, KC 120, FC 103).

Big fan of FC, especially at the price. Wish I didn't take so long to give it a shot.

Put some Benchmark in the coffee this morning simply because the bottle happened to be within reach.
Some OGD BIB with dinner. Just the right amount of funk to offset ravioli.

I'm sorry... Did you guys switch bodies?!

This sucks, having acid reflux issues, going to the doctor tomorrow, haven't had a sip since last week. Hope to have a sip real soon.

Hope you get this sorted out. The doc is probably going to tell you to skip the booze, and skip the burgers, and skip pizza, and skip soda, and skip everything else. But that is why I take pepcid. Bourbon doesn't make it any worse, or any better.

Throw some ECBP and some GTS in the mix, that'll straighten your ass right around and wipeout all that work related nonsense most immediately.

Had one of those yesterday. The barrel proof FR & redbreast 12 CS did the trick nicely. Tonight it was OWA & Jeff Rye.

SAOS 7 Year Rye. My first pour. Not bad, not quite as in your face as the 4 Year Willet FE out there. Nice, lighter for a rye. I like what SA is doing.
