Best Bourbon Bars

Is there some sort of "Straight Bourbon Approved" list of the best bourbon bars in the US?

What makes me think of it is the list released by the Bourbon Review of America's 55 Best Bourbon Bars.

Selection is limited here by the wonderful state of Ohio, but within those limitations, Century Bar in Dayton is as good as it gets.

Thanks for that link, I'm about to check it out (hoping there's one in AZ).

There's a place here in Phoenix called Magnum's that's supposed to have an excellent selection, haven't made it there quite yet, though the wife promised we could go on the next 'date night'.

Huge selection of very good bourbon and at IMO fairly reasonable prices, considering. I'm actually quite impressed.

We have a local chain of burger places here in Connecticut (and expanding) called Plan B. The B's being Burgers, Beef, Beer & Bourbon. So they have a fairly decent selection. But personally I prefer Krust in Middletown, CT; a pizza & bourbon bar. More selection, pricing is about the same, great food and better cocktails.

That list is retarded 88 bourbons? Today on Delilah's back bar I can count 174 Bourbons, and a total aggregate of Whiskey (Bourbon, Rye, American, Scotch, International etc) over 600 bottles. Bourbons not on the back bar but in the liquor room and able to call on at any time would number the total number of bourbons well over 200. So if that list is so wrong about us, then they can't be trusted on the others.

Also for Chicago I'd add Fountainhead, it's where us in the Bourbon Biz go to drink bourbon, as well as Barrel House Flat.

I've always been curious as to what kind of goodies they have in the bar at St. Elmo's. I'm sure it'd be pricey but they might have some rare stuff.

Not on that list but Indy people need to try Bakersfield on Mass Ave. Nothing super premium but a wide selection.

I used to hit up your place all the time back when I lived in Chicago (and before I was on SB), Delilah's is excellent. I would also go to Big Star and Violet Hour across the way (even despite the vibe there), and hit up Fountainhead a few times per year, but I never even heard of Barrel House Flat somehow.

PS Faith and Whiskey started as a great spot for bourbon until it was usurped by DePaul debauchery.

In the Cincinnati area, there is really only one choice: the Old Kentucky Bourbon Bar in Covington, KY. 150+ American whiskies and great cocktails too. (also near TPS!)

In Lexington I recommend Bluegrass Tavern, as long as it is not being overrun by frat guys on the weekend. They have a lot of good stuff (read: everything) to try before you buy it and usually at a reasonable price. But again, go in the afternoon before the chaos ensues.

Read that too fast and thought "why's there FAT guys only on weekends...seems specific".

Travelling in Colorado a few years back and came to love the West End Tavern. Originally didn't expect much (appeared on Man vs. Food for some mega chicken wing thing) but was shocked to find flights at a very fair price.
