Bourserker
I’ll be driving from VA to central MO in a few weeks, and this will probably be my only “hunt†for 2013. I’ll be getting there via I-64 and I-70. For those not familiar or not looking at a map this will take me through WV, straight across KY, through the Southern tips of IN & IL and through part of MO. I’m looking for some help from anyone willing to give it on obtaining some items as I won’t have a lot of time to gallivant around hunting stuff. The items are: FRSB 2013 (Limited Edition) FRSmB 2012 (Limited Edition) PHC 2012 (Blend of Mashbills) THH 2012 ER17 2012 WT101 rye EC12 Barrel Proof PVW15 (Stitzel-Weller version)…ha ha ha…just kidding on this one I’d also like to know if the side trip to the FR distillery to pick up whatever they are selling in the gift shop at that point is worth it. So, with all that said anyone want to help a brother out? Disclaimer: if you want to PM me with any info so as not to post it publicly that information will stay between you and I, and will not be disseminated to anyone else without your written consent …seriously though my lips are sealed and I won’t say thing. Also, I don’t know how much help I can be on giving info since I haven’t been out of VA in a while, but I can offer up any intel I gain when I get back from this trip (which will be sent via PM to those who provide intel). Oh yeah, and I’m only looking for a bottle of each of the items above (with the exception of the WT101 rye…I’d like to get a few bottles of this), so I won’t be clearing shelves or anything dumb like that. P&MLiquorsEric
Best of luck. Enjoy the drive. The four roses limited 2013 sgl brl is out there in KY but look off the beaten path. It has been gone for quite a while at the usual suspects in the big cities. Parker's and ec12 barrel can be had at the gift shop but be prepared to pay a premium. The rest will be tough finds in KY. Anything antique collection is like a needle in a haystack around here.

p_elliott
On I-64 in IN & IL and I-70 in MO you do not go by any liquor stores you can see from the interstate. I will give you a travel tip In St Louis do not get on I 70 right after coming off the bridge stay on I 64 till you get to Wentzville ( I 64 ends there) then get on I 70. Will save you a lot of time and it's better driving. Also I64 in Frankfort KY takes you not far from BT. Edited June 26, 2013 by p_elliott
smokinjoe
Here's another travel tip for you as you approach St. Louis... http://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=vacation+movie+fall+asleep+at+the+wheel+scene+youtube&mid=4094113E82CFFE798AC74094113E82CFFE798AC7&view=detail&FORM=VIRE1 BTW, notice the Vendome Liquors sign in the one shot. The one in Burbank?
Bushko
I was at the FR distillery gift shop just last week and there were several bottles of the single barrel strength bourbon available.
Bourserker
Well, as I expected I didn't get much of a response to this inquiry. Everybody probably has their honey holes and doesn't want to give up information on them, and that's cool. I have a couple of honey holes myself, and my lips are sealed on those. So anyway, on to the trip. First off let me just state for the record that MO is a long ways away from VA. I haven't done a road trip like that in several years, which is part of the reason I did the drive. So over the course of 3 days I drove 1800+ miles, drove through a severe T-storm, and had some issues with one of my tires starting to go flat on the way back. Definitely made for an interesting drive. On the way back I toured the Four Roses distillery. It was my first distillery tour, and it was enjoyable. FRSB is one of my favorite whiskies, so that's why I decide to do that tour. I was little bummed to find out that they are not currently distilling (due to the heat), and that the warehouses are at a different location (really wanted to see the ricks...don't know why). The tour was enjoyable nonetheless. The video they show at the beginning is neat, although it does have some shameless "pimping out" advertising of their whisky in it (I remember the terms "smooth" and "mellow" in there a lot), and the tour guide was quite knowledgeable of their products. I had also planned to hit BT but decided to try to do that on another trip as I didn't leave FR till after 1 PM, and still had 7 - 8 hours of driving ahead of me. As for the hunt, I found 0 of the items on my list. I don't know if I don't know where to look or it just isn't out there, but I didn't find a single one. I also kinda lost interest in hunting on the way back as I had plenty of time to think in the car as to how much stuff I already have stashed in my basement. So, my haul was pretty small...5 bottles to be exact. I got a Liquor Barn KCSB (barrel 246), a Willet 4 year old rye (barrel 26A, 110 proof), a 375 ml JW Dant (just cause I hadn't tried this yet), and the two FRSB gift shop offerings (OESO & OBSO). I attached a couple of pics just for the heck of it. Don't have much intel on anything out there. I saw some Weller 12 year in 750ml and 1.75l sizes in Southern IL. There was also something else of interest at that same store (can't remember what it was off the top of my head). If anyone wants the location you can PM me. Other than that, not much else exciting out there...at least that I saw anyway.
