nd2005
I'm going through AA today and I gave Dominic a call. He said he hasn't heard yet on the bottles. Said still waiting it hear about the proof and how many bottles. He said he thinks he'll know more in two weeks. Updated info: expected delivery in one weekOn similar note, anyone hear anything about when the 4RSB LE might be landing? The eagle has landed...and was promptly snatched up citywide... flaminiom
I picked up a couple bottles at Tippen's today. They said they're getting another barrel in August and Jim will be in to sign bottles.

The Boozer
I cannot think of a single intelligent reason to advertise this. Also visited Tippen's and found they charge a nice premium for their bottles. Recently picked up a bottle of ECBP and paid a premium above minimum, even though the store advertised State Min. Claimed only apply the State Min to standard bottles and not the limited releases. Asked why should I buy their standard bottles from them and basically told that's their new policy. State Min is great for knowing what price you should pay but when two-penny Jenny passed the law, there were a number of people who wanted prices to free float. nd2005
I cannot think of a single intelligent reason to advertise this. I "advertised" that a $29.99 bourbon is coming to the state. The state...it's not like I advertised a particular store, or anything. I think somehow we will survive the onslaught. And as for "intelligent" reason - there are a lot of MI posters here who I thought might like to hear this. Also visited Tippen's and found they charge a nice premium for their bottles. .On what bottles and what kind of premium? Everything I've ever bought there, from the basic bottles to the store picks and limiteds - including the 4R barrel picks, PHC, ECBP, 4R limited - have all been MSRP. Josh
That information about Weller 12 was posted on Facebook a couple days ago anyway so the proverbial cat was already out of the proverbial bag.

I used to get irritated about stuff like this but I don't anymore. It's just not worth it.

I noticed most of the prices for the standard stuff on the shelves was $1 to $2 above State Min. I am with Will on this one, buy hey, everyone's got their favorite store, no critiques allowed. Im just neither good enough at math nor have a sharp enough memory to get upset about a couple bucks here or there. The way you posted before made it seem like you thought they were gouging. And they hey aren't my favorite store...in the spirit of how this thread has turned I don't tell people about my favorite

TheNovaMan
Last I knew, my favorite store doesn't even charge more than state minimum for their allocation of Pappy stuff. I have to agree it's a real pisser when a store advertises state minimum and then charges more, though.
