We will toast Mr. Lee tonight, while he shares with the angels in a different way.

Very, very well said.

I can't put into words my feelings about the passing of Elmer T. Lee. I'll just post a couple of pictures from the 2009 KBF. Something I'll never forget.

A sad day for the bourbon world. RIP Elmer.

As Bernie Lubbers put it, I hope Elmer is sharing a pour with Booker now!

Thoughts and prayers for his family and friends. Raising a glass of Blantons in his honor this evening, and imagining him pouring a healthy amount of Angel's Share. He's more than earned it.

Sad to see the passing of one of the modern legends of the Bourbon game. I'm sure his legacy will resonate with all those who enjoy fine whiskey for many years to come.

I decided to crack open my BUB ETL tonight.

That's one bottle I'd love to have. I had to settle for the next best thing...

Man, this sucks. ETL was the first bourbon I purchased that I actually liked... it's fantastic to hear that he got more than 90 years out of the Fates.

Funny thing. When you have time you think it lasts forever. I knew Elmer made every Tuesday trips to the distillery to hang out, pick barrels, make small talk, but I never found myself at BT on a Tuesday morning. I kept thinking next time - I'll swing by and say hello. Looks like I'll have to wait a little longer. By all accounts a good man and a pioneer in the industry. Godspeed and farewell - - May the wind always be at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face, and rains fall soft upon your fields. -- I enjoyed a drink in his name tonight.

Some say whiskey don't keep. Well, I do keep special bottles, and save them for needed occasions.

I've been keeping in the bunker a ETL 15yr single barrel that a member was kind enough to trade me some time ago.

Tonight, no finer a day to open it to honor a man who gave so much to the industry.

It's quite a fine pour. Might leave a little in the glass in case the man himself would like to give a visit.

Thank you Elmer.

B

What a life. What bourbon. I'd be happy to accomplish half of what he did. I'm enjoying a fantastic pour of ETL, I just wish I had a bottle that wasn't a barrel selection from a liquor store so I could toast him with juice he actually picked.

Was told the news as I walked into work today. Sad to hear it but he certainly did have a good run.

Mr. Lee:

May your glass be ever full.

May the roof over your head be always strong.

And may you be in heaven half an hour before the devil knows you're dead.
