TunnelTiger
Need some assistance please. I picked a FRSB gift box the other day and after I opened it I can't decipher what year or recipe it is. I've read through all of the old FRSB threads and can't find anything that helps. What am I missing? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Wryguy
That's just a bottle of the standard FRSB, not the limited edition or private selections that carry an age statement. It is OBSV recipe.

Phil T
And they typically appear around the holidays, hence the gift box.

Ejmharris
I bought my brother the gift set for Christmas last year. The whiskey is good as always with FR's but I loved the glasses. So much so that I found 4 glasses online and ordered them. They are the perfect size and weight. Not great for note taking but perfect for mass consumption. PaulO
Tunnel Tiger, If you're a noob, then it looks like you must have good taste. I have both bottles pictured open in my cabinet. That McKenna is very nice too. Not to thread hijack, but I saw recently that HH has re-designed the label for McKenna B.I.B. to make it look more modern. I really take SB members comments and tastings to heart. Y'all really know from what you speak.Until I joined I never thought about the bottom or middle shelfs. Man what taste and value! And it generally gets even better as you move up.Last but not lest this is the least expensive and most enjoyable hobby I've ever had.
Tucker
The Four Roses website has information on current standard and LE bottlings. Here's the page for the standard single barrel...http://www.fourrosesbourbon.com/single-barrel/ Edited July 29, 2013 by Tucker

DogfaceSoldier
Great pick up. I found that gift set two years ago for $22 at the Class Six on post. Nothing wrong with getting myself a Christmas present!
GaryT
Without the gift box, the FRSB runs $35-$40 around town, and well worth every penny IMHO (so two nice glasses for $2? Heck yeah!)
MauiSon
I see the barrel was stacked on top - as high as Four Roses stacks 'em. You don't see many single barrels with that 6-high number. [south side of warehouse U, rick 10, 21 barrels deep] That's what all those letters and numbers mean. It locates the barrel, both physically and in their records. jeffrey r
I am pretty lucky to have FRSB available to me for $29.99. At this same store, last winter, they got in a ton of the gift sets at, well, $29.99. There were two different barrels represented in the gift sets, so after trying each barrel (both excellent), I bought a couple more of the gift sets. I gather I have at least 8 of the FR rocks glasses, and they're very cool. And some delicious FRSB to boot.
