gburger
So I was in Houston a couple of weeks ago to attend the Astros/Angels series. I stopped by Spec's and picked up 2 bottles of Angel's Envy Rye. I put them in my trunk and sort of forgot about them till I got home the next day.Well it gets hot in Texas and my trunk must have been over 125 degrees. When I opened the trunk to get my bottles out I noticed the sweet smell of the bourbon. I had both bottles inside a soft sided cooler. One of the bottle's cork had popped off, thankfully it was sitting straight up so I did not lose any juice. The other bottle was fine. Angels Envy only uses a paper seal on top of the cork, so it did not take much pressure to tear that off.So I did learn a lesson, keep my bourbon cool and out of a hot trunk. P&MLiquorsEric
Had a customer leave a Highland Park 18 in his motorcycle saddlebag all day. Cork popped up and it leaked everywhere. He said the smell is quite nice but it was an expensive air freshener.

Bourbon Boiler
This happened to me recently with an Angel's Envy bottle for TomH. About a third of it spilled in the trunk.
Josh
I've had similar things happen in my garage where I store some of my bottles. It's only been already opened ones or wax sealed ones that have popped on me. I hope you enjoyed the series. Watching minor league baseball can be really fun. WAINWRIGHT
You mean you guys don't transport your whiskey bottles in a car seat?Don't laugh I was hit by an uninsured motorist and a 3 pack of PVW15 was in my son's car seat, car was totaled the Pappy was just fine. Not to get too far off topic the only issues I have had with popping bottles were with a V17 and Willett 10yr left in the heat for only a few hours, cracked the wax on both and they ended up drawing moisture, yep I learned my lesson. BFerguson
Add another victim to the list. Mine was a AE rye. Car smelled pretty good for the rest of the trip home. Lost maybe a ounce or two at most. And it wasn't really that hot out when it happened.B

If you don't have another bottle of AE, feel free to replace it with something else.....I'm not real picky when it comes to Fantasy Football booty :-)
