Paradox
And finally the bottling line. They were dipping Elmer T. Lee Single Barrel this year. The woman there told me that Makers Mark got on their butts and now they have to be careful the wax does not have any drips in it. They now dip it so it forms a perfect circle around the raised circle near the top of the bottle below the neck. If there is any excess they have to cut if off from now on... brendaj
Mark, So, errr...what happened to my link to the video? My photos? We were talking about the whiskey thief, and I promised the Greg and the guys a clip of it at work... Bourbon Recipes video clips Sort of bums me, this is the only thread I've ever started that actually went anywhere... I've forgotten what I posted... Paradox
I'm not too sure Brenda... Jeff says it was deleted during a system function. Not too sure what was going on, but sorry nonetheless. Maybe Jim can find the data when he returns if it wasn't blasted permanently.

I remember in 2001 when we had the SB tasting at BT, they had just done the new design for the Elmer T. Lee bottle and the topic of wax came up and it was thought that as long as it's not dripping RED wax they were OK (or something like that)... I guess in response makers mark started dipping their bottles in every color and combination imaginable... I guess soon someone will try to trademark the cork... Or maybe the screwtop... -chris
