Painkiller
http://www.expresionesdelcorazon.com/expresiones.php?hgm=1_4Just saw these at Total Wine. $90. Interesting. Weird to see Winkle, Stagg and the Sazerac brands on tequila bottles. Personally not big on tequila, but one of my boys hooked me up with a chilled shot of another brand that was aged (slightly) in scotch casks. Gotta say, pretty damn good. Very nice aftertaste. Different for sure. Amazing what is aged in what these days. Pretty soon we will be able to buy beer aged in bourbon casks. Oh, wait....I actually like that, too. Fun stuff! HighInTheMtns
Pretty well all tequila is aged in ex-bourbon casks.
Fred Minnick
I tasted these, and they're darn exceptional. I much preferred the Stagg barrel.
P&MLiquorsEric
Corazon is "imported" by Sazarac. Solid tequila for the $$ on the regular corazon.
DogfaceSoldier
Great use of marketing by Corazon / Sacarac though I'm not a tequila fan myself.

capitals83
I like my tequila without any age. Maybe I am weird, but the more it is aged it looses the profile I want from it. It seems that it is just marketing to get some high end whiskey names on more labels.
Jorgemu1
I heard about these a while back. I haven't seen them in my neck of the woods. I would be definitely interested. Although I've never had a good experience with tequila in hindsight...
luther.r
A good friend of mine who is a huge tequila nut tried all of these with friends the other night and said the blanco was the best one. If you're a bourbon fan, aging tequila in a Stagg or WLW barrel doesn't make much sense because most of the flavor will have already come out of the barrel. It would be better to use a barrel from a 4-year whiskey that still has some life left (if you want that bourbony flavor)

It seems that it is just marketing to get some high end whiskey names on more labels. You have to look a bit but there is plenty of tequila out there with a bit of age that still has lots of agave character. I tend to judge tequila by the reposado expression. For me it can often be the best of the line. And if they can pull that balance of agave and modest aging off then I can usually expect both the blanco and the anejo to be at least decent.
