Almost one year ago today I started a new job with someone (a fellow SB member) who clued me into this obsession. I had always liked bourbon but knew nothing about it. I've had a chance to enjoy some terrific bourbons and ryes, mostly thanks to this great community. Here are my top 5:

1. Wild Turkey 8 Year

2. GTS 2012 (the one that started it all)

3. WSR7 from 1990 or so

4. ER101 NOLA

5. WLW 2012

Honorable Mention: High West Rendezvous Rye, Old Charter 10 (Louisville)

My list of 5 to try for the first time in the next year:

1. Van Winkle Rye

2. Saz 18

3. The old RR everyone raves about

4. Some higher age WT products

5. Parker's Heritage (never had any, all different)

Thanks to everyone for a good year. I'd like to hear some of your favorites from the last year if y'all wanna share.

2)VOF or VVOF"Yeah I know, good luck on that one as well"

Actually I can't remember if I missed it, or if I had it after way too many solid pours :) I'd like a redo at that one if someone has one laying around!

Good guess there Doug.

squire, since we like some of the same things......whats your take on Charter 101, if youve had it?

I've certainly had a lot of Charter over the years but not the 101. It's only available in the 175 here and I'm not curious enough to pay twice the price of Barton which I already know I like.

Squire, I think you and I are about the only ones who employ that type of math around here. :)

My top 5 is pretty boring:

1) KC 120

2) ORVW 107

3) KC 100

4) OGD 114

5) FC 103

(Very) Honorable mention: EWB, OGD BIB, BT, SB Blend

Wishlist for this coming winter/next year:

* WLW BTAC

* Pappy 15 (not in a hipster way... just haven't tried it yet, curious to try it at least once to see what all the hubbub is about)

* Ritt BIB

* 4RSB

Pretty new to Bourbon, been drinking unmixed for less than a year. So I have more untasted bottles than tasted at this point. However...

Elijah Craig 20 yr

Wild Turkey American Spirit

Wild turkey Russell's Reserve

Elijah Craig 12 yr

Four Roses single Barrel

I have probably tried about 15 Bourbons and haven't found anything that wasn't at least good.

look around a bit

That would involve work which is violative of the first rule of retirement which is to avoid work.

OK, I'll play, too.

My fav's since last summer are these:

Elijah Craig 12-year Barrel Proof

(Current issue of) Old Forester Birthday Bourbon

Ezra B Single Barrel (Luxco, NDP)

A (too-tiny) taste of Wild Turkey 12-year at the Gazebo in April

William Larue Weller from last fall

...and just because I can; I'll add one more: Henry McKenna Single Barrel 10-year BIB

In no order:

Basically a list of year favorites right?

ECBP

PVW 15

Blanton's (store selection)

Bowman's Millenium

FR Single Barrel

Would like to venture outside of some stock store bourbons in the coming year.

Ask me tomorrow and I might change my mind.

VOF 62-70

Rathskeller Rye

JPS 18 unfiltered Single Barrel

Four Roses 17 year OBSV

Tie - 1970 Old Fitz Prime/1976 Yellowstone

Others that could easily make the list: Four Roses Jim Rutledge 40th, the amazing SB Blend at the sampler.

Good idea for a thread.
