Hear me interviewed today on the BBC World Service "Business Matters" program. It's about the Jack Daniel's expansion. It probably will run all day today. On the link above, it starts at about 36:50. Let me know how I did.

Just worked for me. Not sure the voice was what I expected. Of course I didn't know what to expect!

Thought you did a good job! Sounded like it had been edited down a bit but hard to say for sure.

Ah, second time around I got a listen cue that was absent on my first visit. For those who are interested the Bourbon interview begins at the 37 minute mark.

Nice to see a media piece on American whiskey that gets it right. Good questions and better answers!

They edited a little bit. My history answer doesn't make sense as a result, but my unedited answer wasn't that good either. The vodka crack just came to me but Roger (the host) loved it. Called it brilliant, but brits say that a lot.

Nicely done, Chuck, you represented well and were gracious to the Scotch drinkers - vodka, well that is another matter  !

Missed this earlier, but listened to this today, as well. Great job, Chuck. It doesn't matter, as it didn't take away from the point of the interview, but I'm curious as to why you didn't correct him on his reference to Jack Daniel's "Bourbon"? My guess would be a tight time window to get everything in, and didn't want to waste time on explaining all of that?

We'd have to resuscitate that equine first. I'd like to hear more about the expansion and whether the product is overseas market specific or general release with that market in mind.

Let's turn this into a thread about whether JD is a bourbon or not.

If you're interested in that, you should fire a new one up, Jayc!

Unfortunately sarcasm cannot be conveyed in print. The JD debate is pretty much a dead horse that i'd rather not beat.

The Bureau Laboratory has analyzed the samples submitted and has given careful consideration to the description of your manufacturing process. In view of the nature of the process and the results of analyses, it has neither the characteristics of horse nor dead, but rather is a distinctive product which may be labeled "marketing".

Ain't that right, smokinjoe...

I believe the 'bourbon' comment was made either in the introduction or during the panel discussion that followed the interview, both of which were recorded separately. I wasn't 'there' when that was said.
