Should Bourbon be refrigerated or kept at room temp, just wondering?

Interesting. I always have kept it at RT. But why not at 4C. Test it and let us know.

I generally keep A bottle in there, but that's more for effect than preservation purposes.

There ain't no "should" in bourbon drinking except you should drink it the way you like it. In the summer, I sometimes like my OGD straight from the freezer. As Squire says, it's a very versatile drink.

I absolutely agree, there is no wrong way to enjoy bourbon.

Keeping whatever dram you prefer really cold in the freezer facilitates having a quick pour of that one anytime, without the needless addition of ice... unless you want that slow dilution, which would happen veeeeeery slowly indeed, if the dram was in the freezer, eh?

I do keep all my long-term storage Bourbons at room temp, not believing in any need for cold to preserve 'em.

I don't keep anything but BT bourbon cream liqueur in the fridge, but our illustrious BOTY likes his HH 6 year BIB chilled in the fridge during the summer. I think that's a pretty strong endorsement.

Never thought about it but with summer approaching fast I might consider keeping one in the freezer. I guess the higher proof ones will be better this way.

Never thought of refrigerating bourbon until I saw Joe's posting of this. It is now my summer staple.

I like mine at room temperature. This year at the sampler Wednesday night it was cold out and it was just me and Joe. It was very cold and my bourbon was getting very cold and I didn't like it.

So many options...a chilled bottle in the summer is great, room temperature during the fall and winter is great. As stated it is really more a preference than a requirement to refrigerate bourbon or any alcohol. Except beer. I just can't drink beer at room temperature, no matter the type.

Agree with what others have said - really depends if you like cold whiskey. I had a bottle in my fridge, but found the cold seemed to keep some of the lovely aromas and flavors at bay. But I'm also not a big "on the rocks" guy either (I don't mind a splash of water, but I prefer room temp rather than chilled water for that). As long as you're enjoying your bourbon, do whatever works
