Hi all:

I may have run across a stash of EWSB 1990...not sure yet, as I will not believe it until I see it.

Does anyone have a bottle of this stuff lying around? I searched the site and it looks like the 1990 came out in the board's infancy, and there were not too many threads concerning it...and the threads that do exist are somewhat short in description.

So I'm curious if anyone knows how the 90 stands up to the more recent offerings (91-93).

Buy it man!!Buy it grin.gifgrin.gifgrin.gifDrink it man!! Drink it grin.gifgrin.gifgrin.gif. All of the Evan Williams SB is good-there is none bad-and well worth the price. You can save a few bottles for the future just for comparison. I like that year 1990 mixed with Schweppe's Ginger Ale. Yes!I know!! But that is the way I like it!!

Cheers,

Marvin

I have a bottle I've been picking away at for two years now. While I understand that the '92 and '93 get rave reviews around here, IMHO the '90, while very pleasant, is nothing to get all excited about. I must admit that I have not had the opportunity to sample the '92 or '93. I suppose it all depends on the flavour you're after, but for my money, there are better bets.

I must politely disagree now that I had a chance to line it up against the 1993 (at the gazebo last friday) I must reaffirm how fabulous a whiskey the 1990 vintage is. While not as bold as some of the EWSBs since it has more depth of flavor than any of the others I have tried, though sometimes the individual flavors are har to pick out.

Here is my old Tasting Notes , along with notes from another former forum member that may help you in your quest for info.

Tom, I'm glad you're sticking up for a bourbon you believe in (I respect your opinion).Hey, somebody's been watering down my EWSB, that's the problem! smile.gif
