MtnDew
Where was lostbottle? He said he was in line, I wonder how close to the front? And there is no way their allocation is that big, right? I mean they must know ahead of time about how much they are getting, shouldn't they at least tell people to go home?
Phil T
I mean they must know ahead of time about how much they are getting, shouldn't they at least tell people to go home? They have a vastly large selection of spirits, beer, wine, and party supplies...I'm guessing that telling people to go home is never an option

NRCardinal88
With the abundance of readily-available and delicious bourbons on the shelves of most liquor stores in KY, these people are absolutely crazy.

DogfaceSoldier
That's unreal. Wonder how many walk out of TPS and sell it to someone else in line for 3x the price. Disgusting.
PaulO
When I read "TPS Line" I thought they had started selling whiskey from their own distillery.

Disgusting.Wow...these are some cynical times. I'm not on any flipping sites but my intuition is that what is being flipped is still a small fraction. Somebody could probably do a quick statistical analysis on the 4R 125th LE which had 12,468 bottles released.

Somebody could probably do a quick statistical analysis on the 4R 125th LE which had 12,468 bottles released. The sense i get from most shop owners is that allocations are being spread wider to more accounts this year (retail or on premise) so those who used to get lots, get little. Not to sound cynical, but it now only takes a small few folks to clean out a city like Louisville (as noticed by surge in BTAC flipping the day of and after it released this year). Now to the TPS line....i'm shocked they wouldn't have at least broken the news to the folks at >100 spots back. But as noted above, they'd be mad to fully turn customers away without at least trying to sell them some wine or balloons.

Don't worry though, I'm already camped out for the 2014 allocation and I have my release day gold iPhone 5s to keep me occupied.

I hope you're right about those flipping whiskey is only a fraction of those purchasing.

Old Dusty
Bucky1 and I were so close to going. Was going to be a fun road trip. But neither of us wanted to be "that guy" in line who was so desperate for booze that we prostituted ourselves. It's seriously just not worth the stress and bother. Just wait for the bubble to burst and then enjoy the best KY has to offer.
