FlayJ
My grandfather in law has an old stash of scotch, bouron and various other whiskey. Two weeks ago, he told me to "try this and let me know if it is any good." The bottle is similar to a JD or Jim Beam bottle (squarish) and has black label with white letters. The bourbon is called Virrgin Bourbon and bottled at 107 proof. The label states it was made at the Daniel Boone distillery (forget what city was listed).I asked Fritz when he bought the bottle to which he said "oh, maybe 40 years ago", and it was till unopened. To date, this is one of the most flavorful, drinkable higher proof bourbons I have ever had! He has an old bottle of Weller's 12 yr old that I am still waiting for him to ask me to try. I think he purchased it around the same time as the Virgin Bourbon. Cheers to the bourbon makers of the past - they sure new how to mash, age and bottle it!
