That's the going-rate here in NYC. A definite bargain IMO--7 year old, 101 proof bourbon for under $20, and it tastes good. It doesn't really compete with the better bourbons in the $30-$40 range, but it is good for what it is. I always keep a few bottles of it around.

yip.

i also cant imagine it staying around too much longer with bourbon supplies and the market the way it is. Everyone assumes it is HH stock, and if HH (as they told me in an email) is serious that they are starting to have supply issues keeping up with HH6BIB, then I imagine sooner or later the supply pipeline to luxco will dry up, or at least at the current prices.

Ah, that's the kicker isn't it.

  • 3 years later...

So a little more than 3 years later from the last post , where are we today? I have not seen this on the shelves, but it's stating to show up here, and in Chicago area. My LS here now has it, but never more than a few bottles at a time. Price running low to mid 20s. Still a fair price for a 7 year old and 101 proof. Worried the AS could come off at any time.

What are you seeing and thoughts on this pretty good, if not remarkable bourbon?

I can find it pretty much anywhere in northern Tennessee. It's usually around $21.

I have never seen this anywhere. I have read this was intended for the export market but some is available in this country.

I know it's available in TN, MS and GA. It seems to be priced in the high $20 to low $30 range in the few places I've seen it in TN, but low to mid $20 range in MS and GA.

Then that makes it more expensive the OE, at least around here. It's it the 23 to 27 range in this part of the Midwest, OE that is. I though Virgin was sold much cheaper.

I messed up that quote reference. I was referring to the OE. I know the Virgin is available in Alabama for less than $20, but not sure about elsewhere. I've never seen it in TN.

Ok, that makes more sense. IF it is really OE7 it would make for a very worthwhile search.

Virgin is available in NC for $13 plus tax.

If I recall, I saw it for $19.99.

This is from the Mecklenburg county ABC website. It may be priced different in another county but usually it's a state mandated price.

12.95 is a great price. If it is OE7 I would grab a bunch at that price. I had some OE last night. Very smooth and polished.

So it looks like it's become more available across the country and some pretty good prices. For me anything under $20 is a steal. This is a lovely bourbon. The only thing I don't like about this bourbon is I think the label is ugly.

I saw the new brown label somewhere and it's even uglier.
