jwacky
My brother-in-law will have an opporunity to shop Duty Free next weekend (coming back from Mexico, FWIW)... anything that might be available worth grabbing? I've totally unfamiliar with may (or may not) be available there, any insight would be appreciated.
NWBourbonDrinker
I just came back from Canada and there was a lot of liquor but not much bourbon that was interesting. I was hoping to find the Blanton's Barrel Strength offering but no luck. They had some real interesting Canadian Whiskey but that is another story. humchan2k
I just went to Taiwan, and was super disappointed at the lack of bourbon selection....especially considering how many scotches of incredible prices they had. I think Asia is pretty much a dead zone for Duty Free these days, even the Narita airport in Japan has stopped carrying Wild Turkey 8 and 12. smokinjoe
Jack Daniel's Silver Select is the first thing I would look for. The older Turkeys are up there, too, but the 8 and 12 of today, ain't your daddy's 8 and 12. JDSS is a proven commodity in my book.

No more WT12 at all, not even the modern variant. Just because the proof ends with a "1", doesn't make it OK that it doesn't start with "10".Is JDSS a single barrel at higher proof? chrisg
I believe Kavalan will be available in the US hopefully soon. A distributor has been selected.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free
nd2005
If it's the duty free shop in Cancun, then you can look forward to a very exciting selection of...Maker's, JD, and crown royal all on the same shelf.

tanstaafl2
Havana Club 7 rum..That and the HC Selección de Maestros were about the most interesting things I saw at the Lima Duty Free in Peru. But decided against them as Atlanta customs has been more picky of late. Turns out I could have probably gotten them in with no particular problems as no one checked this time around. Ended up with run of the mill scotch instead.

Eskwar
Havana Club 7 rum..Thanks for starting this thread, Jwacky, and thank you to the contributors, too. I used it earlier today in Cabo while scowling at all the Johnny Walkers, trying to will them into BlantonsBTB. Thanks to smokinjoe and KCJason, I walked out w/ JDSS and HC 7...and opened the latter a mere 12 hours later, and am really liking it (its nose jumped out of the bottle and filled the room when I cracked it).Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
