jonhalter
What do you think are reasonable bar prices for this years BTAC? Not talking major NYC or Vegas bars, just decent whiskey bars. What price would be too much for you to pay if you had no access to the line otherwise?
Trey Manthey
More than $12, less than $20.
michaelturtle1
I paid $15 for generous pours of Saz 18 in a NYC bar..
KySalesRep
One nice place in Lexington has them at $18 for 2 oz pours. But if you stop in at Liquor Barn, you can sample some BTAC (and they had each one) for $5/oz. Not too bad, IMO.
squire
I only go to bars with folks who still have an expense account.
VT Mike
I think 25% of what the bar had to pay for the bottle is reasonable for a 2 oz pour, at least for bottles that cost in the $50 to $100 range.

JKLS
I had a WLW '11 a couple months ago at a bar in Chicago for $12. Last 1.5oz in the bottle.
RWBadley
Both of my locals have the Stagg for $10. I can drink these at that price
petrel800
I typically see $15-20 as reasonable for those pours.

It's probably similar to your 25% of cost often times?!
callmeox
I drink beer in bars and bourbon at home. Typically, there's little worth buying at a bar in my area.If super premium stuff was available, sticker shock would prevent me from dropping 15-20 bucks on a pour regardless. The only break they get is not paying the 6% sales tax.

KCJason1
Found all 5 at a bar last weekend they wanted $22... I haven't tried any other bars in town. Kinda Want to go back to a place that i found last spring that had Pappy 20 for $20..
bourbonfoot
Interesting conversation. We have a bar in town that'll do flights of three, and the price you pay is the price of the most expensive whiskey of the three. So theoretically, if this bar received the entire BTAC collection, you could get three 1.5 oz pours for the price of one normal pour. Just running down their current price list, it looks like 20-25% of MSRP is standard price.
brettckeen
Every market has different taxes for booze. It's hard to say. Also factor in where the bar is, in a high rent/ high property tax area, or not.

loki993
I have a hard time knowing what's reasonable and what isnt...a couple places here have a regular list and then a special list....like 37 for a 1.5 of pappy 15 for example....reasonable? I don't know its a lot more them 20 percent but its also something you can't find either...

I do think that's a good price for it though, as that's the kind of price (and pour size) it takes to keep it on the shelf for any amount of time. I did pay about 35 bucks for a pour of ritt 25, but as I said, that's come and gone so it was worth a try in my opinion. My favorite though is when the BTAC is on menus at different prices. A place in Vegas had saz18 for like 15 a pour and Stagg at like 40. Couldn't help but laugh at that. They must be figuring prices on abv.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
VT Mike
There's a whiskey bar near me with Van Winkle 12yr for $50, Pappy 15yr for $75 and Pappy 20yr for $100. Pretty sure they are 2 oz pours. Talk about gouging!
