JR told me this 10 & 11yo class had recently graduated, so I was wondering how many SBers have shared in the festivities. My graduates - #HW 29-3V, are currently in CA, so I can't comment on quality, but would really enjoy hearing from others.

OBSF HW-29C. One of the private barrel selections for P & M Liquors in Elizabethtown that I was privileged to be a part of the tasting panel. Bottled June 2013, 10yrs 11 months old. Eric sold out quickly, but last week received a few more cases that 4R "found" and sent him. It won't last long, as this is terrific stuff. I picked up another bottle this morning. Enjoy yours.

I got a bottle of a cask strength OBSF that was recently bottled, and should be of that vintage. It is indeed delicious; but other than that, is there a story there? What makes you call out 2002 OBSF, MauiSon?

Incidentally, mine is TN 63-2A, 109 proof. Bottled July 2013. It's got a really prominent rye note, but still well balanced. 109 proof is a really nice sweet spot, too.

My local retailer just received 5 different mashbills as private selections. I believe OBSF was one of them. I will check next time I am in the store. I don't recall the age or proof but I would imagine that it is in the ranges mentioned.

I bought a PS of OBSF (122.8pf) from IWS recently (on sale), but they provided no age info at all, their write-up cited the boilerplate,"8 to 10 years old". So I asked JR and he replied,

"The purchasers of private barrels design their label on the side of the bottle. Many of them include the age of the Bourbon, but it’s their choice. I “believe” the recent selections of OBSF barrels have been slightly greater than 11 years of age, but I don’t know how long ago the barrel was chosen. We’ve also had some 9+ year-old barrels."

and [with the barrel # provided], "The OBSF Bourbon was distilled on July 3, 2002. The barrel was filled on July 15, 2002. The barrel was dumped and the Bourbon bottled in September 2013. The Bourbon in your bottles was aged 11 years 2 months."

I intend to add an extra label with the additional info.

Having a pour of this right now myself. It's a fantastic pour. Wish I would've picked up another one when I had the chance.

The most recent Binnys OBSF pick was distilled July 7, 2002 and aged in Warehouse HW barrel 29-3k. It's a really tasty pour. Probably going to pick up another one before they're gone.

Here is my 11 yr old OBSF, gift shop bottle. Picked it up in early Aug. Tasty stuff so far, but Rutledge doesn't pick many losers IMHO.

I have been able to find exactly 1 private barrel selection of Four Roses in Houston. I don't suppose you want to trade a couple bottles of each of those mashbills for Garrison Brothers?
