Josh
Beam has a new (I think) website up to market its "Old" line of whiskeys: Overholt, Crow and Gand Dad. http://theoldswhiskeys.com/It also includes videos from a personification of each of the "olds" http://theoldswhiskeys.com/meet-the-olds/ The videos are terrible (only Crow and Overholt are currently up) but I will admit I chucked a few times at the sheer stupidity of them.I discovered this when "Old Crow" tweeted me to say there were no hard feelings about the review I just posted of Old Crow Reserve on my blog. Brisko
Yes but how does Old Crow Reserve compare to the standard Old Crow? Can't you do a head-to-head for us, Josh? I'd do it but OCR seems to only be stocked in family size around here. I'm all for given the bottom shelf a fair shake but I don't need a half gallon of the stuff. And, back on topic... I don't think that website is aimed at us, for some reason.:skep:
Guy Debord
The "olds" are certainly trying to play into that rugged hipster "give me what real men used to drink" / "give me the original authentic heritage bourbon" demographic. It's silly, but its also silly trying to play bourbon up as something only rich gentlemen drink too. It's just life-style marketing and it'll probably work. Look at how many urban guys and gals dress like lumber jacks and drink PBR. PRB doesn't even have to market, they keep the price low, keep the can red, white, and blue and it works out.Next year my neighborhood will be filled with 23 year old guys, smoking pipes, dressed like lunch pale workers drinking OGD from pint bottles, they will not use flasks because then you can't see the label. Yeti
As much as it pains me, Guy is kinda right. Not exactly the same thing, but look at what the "frontier whiskey" campaign did for Bulleit. Maybe it will drive a few people toward OGD who really and truly enjoy it.

oke&coke
Load up now while the price is low squire. Then when it becomes the next pappy you could make a killing. So, how does it feel to be suddenly in vogue?

Too funny! This is gonna happen. I just know it Someone asked me what a hipster was and Guy just described one flavor that I've seen (Steampunk is what they call themselves I think.) I get the feeling Restaraunt Man has seen the writing on the wall. Now where is my bottle of Old Crow?

WAINWRIGHT
The website itself is trying to be something it's not and I think they are trying to reach the wrong audience entirely. The video shorts are just an ignorant hodge podge that are trying to be retro chic and just come across extremely asinine. In retrospect,Josh love the new avatar..... very coy indeed! mosugoji64
If they're going to bother promoting the brands, the least they could do is take some care in making them. I'm speaking of OC and OO. OGD is just fine and should be left out of this mess.
