jwacky
Noticed this morning that BevMo is no longer shipping spirits? Not that they had anything better to ship than they do in local stores, but still... Wonder why they stopped? Total Wine stopped shipping spirits (to California, anyway) too recently. And TPS. Who's next?Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
squire
Apparently it's no longer worth it to them and how that came about whether by market or regulatory forces I cannot say.
Guy Debord
I would assume that it is a huge operating/warehouse headache to ship booze to many states, given that each state has it's own set of laws about shipping and receiving it. Add to that the varying levels of supply and demand for certain booze brands. Bevmo probably gave up trying to handle the supply/demand issues and online ordering. bingstein
My guess is that it's simply not difficult for the stores to move the products on their shelves, so there is no financial incentive to offer shipping options. I recently was at TPS and it looked like the Tazmanian devil had gone through and ravaged the shelves. Unless they take a substantial portion of what they charge for shipping, there is no reason to continue to offer the service.

Why deal with the headache since 1) they don't have enough inventory of the 'hard to find' stuff to make it available online, anyway and 2) they don't have issues moving anything in store as it is. oke&coke
I would also venture a guess that since whiskey is becoming popular, more brands are seeing national distribution and online sales may actually be falling overall. Just a guess though.
