Hi guys, Ive recently come across the guy that imports High West products to Australia. The two Ive bought, tried and liked already are the Rendezvous Rye and the Double rye. Both are very similar to me on entry, with the Rendezvous having a longer finish, therefore getting the nod as my favourite so far. There are a lot more bottles for me to try, but you need deep pockets. The unaged stuff doesn't interest me, but im interested in what my fellow SB'ers think of the range and their favourites are? are their bourbons as good as their ryes? Thanks, Dan.

I've only had the double rye and campfire and I love campfire, but mostly because it's unlike anything else I've ever tried. Though given it's bourbon, rye, and peated scotch mixed together, it's not likely something many other producers will repeat.

They have sold, and may still have at the distillery itself, some older bottles of rye sourced from who knows where. I've heard good things about them and seen some on the shelf of one of the members bunkers here, but never tasted one. Some day...

Nah, not from who knows where... 21 and 16 are Barton, 12 is LDI. They are sold out of 12 and 16, even at the distillery.

Anyway, Rendezvous is my pick among their standard offerings.

I really enjoy the Rendezvous. My favorite is a special Double Rye release they did for Binnys (Chicago) where they aged the regular Double Rye an extra 6 months in a Manhattan cocktail barrel. It was out-of-this-world good - best Manhattan I've ever had. All you needed to do was add a cherry. Every time I opened a bottle it was gone that day (friends helped, of course).

Awesome, I figured someone here would know where they came from :)

It's my favorite by default, since it's the only one I've tried so far, but the Bourye is delicious.

To me the Rendezvous Rye is their best. According to the distributor - it is a mix of 6 year and 16 year old rye. Very tasty!

I have not had all of their stuff but my favorite has been the Campfire. I really enjoy it and think it is pretty interesting blend, worth the $50/bottle here

I believe the HW 21 rye is now officially out at the distillery and getting harder to find in the wild despite the cost. It was pricey here at around $120 but don't know if they saved any to send down under. I liked the Bourye as well but the follow up, Son of Bourye, was not as strong. I also thought the Double Rye was not quite as good as the Rendezvous Rye.

They have recently released an "XO" version of the Campfire using finishing in different European barrels but I don't think I have tried that yet.

The 21 is one of my all-time favorites. Happy to have a few bottles bunkered .. most that I got up there with you guys!

I've got to go with the 21 followed by the Rendevous Rye. The Double Rye and the Prairie Bourbon were OK by my books and I would drink it if you poured me a glass, but I don't feel the price tag is worth bringing a bottle home. Campfire is interesting and I keep debating bringing one home, but the fall releases continue to funnel my drinking money elsewhere.

Campfire in the Winter, Double Rye in the Summer.

Something about the punch of the Campfire that has me looking forward to the colder weather.

I've only had Double Rye, Rendezvous, and Bourye. I went bonkers for Rendezvous when I first had it. I love the Bourye, but I've only had two pours of it. I think Rendezvous is more than an adequate substitute for the now-extinct Bourye.

All I've had is the Double Rye, Bourye, and Rendezvous. I thought for the price the first two were just meh but the Rendezvous is another story. One open and one in the bunker.

Rendezvous. By far.

However, no one is mentioning just how delicious the 36th Amendment barreled Manhattan is....DAMN that stuff is good, I've gone through 4-5 bottles in the last year or so. I think it's the perfect manhattan....and the best part is all I gotta do is pour it out of a bottle, drop 1 cube in it....touchdown

The 21 rye was really fantastic. Wish I had bought a case when it was available. Also wish I had a dollar every time I said I wish I had bunkers a case of some thing and didn't do it. I also really like the campfire. Every time I drink it my palate is totally confused trying to figure it out. But it is really good. Got to try a sample at Whiskeyfest NY of a new one they were working on that was also very good. They didn't have an official name for it yet. The plain white label and the temporary name, "Bugjuice". I told them that was perfect and don't change a thing!

"Bugjuice" eh? Somebody flash the HighWest spotlight to call Garretson for the 411 on this!

This is a tough question as I like / love every whisky I've had from HW... The 16yr rye is hard to beat in my book by the Campfire is the most engaging HW bottle so far.

Campfire has been my favorite so far. Besides the novelty and uniqueness of the pour, it is damn tasty stuff if you're not put off by a little smoke and peat (which as a La-frog lover, I am not!)

16, 21, Rendezvous, Bourye, Campfire, American Prairie Reserve, Double Rye, Silver Oat. Liked em all, but in that order.

That's the order I'd put them in with Son of Bourye between APR and DR!.
