dreasoner
Definitely the 16 then the Rendezvous rye. Just ordered a couple more Rendezvous to bunker. I have a couple 375ml's of the 16 but can't seem to find it anymore so I think that's the last of it.
FlounderinDC
I've only been able to try the Son of Bourye and really enjoyed it. I'm going to pick up one, maybe two others this weekend probably the Rendezvous and American Prairie Reserve.
Trey Manthey
I always keep a Rendezvous around, but Bourye is my favorite. The 16 and 21 are good, but I don't find them to be worth their premium price.
JKLS
The first HW I tried was Son of Bourye, which I enjoyed very much. I have had the Rendezvous and Double Rye at work, both nice, prefer them to the 21yo actually, which I have a bottle of. I like the Campfire, I think I would take Balcones Brimstone over the HW though, kinda similar and made in house. Both are nice if you want something smoky though. I have two bottles of Bourye that I have yet to crack, trying to empty some of my already open items before I get there. The only offering from them that I would leave rather than take is the American Prarie Reserve. It's fine, it's just not really good and at $40-50 around here, too much good competition in that price group. cbus
I've tried a few of their products, and of the one's I've had, I prefer the campfire. Didn't grab me initially, but it grew on me fast. Such an interesting blend!
WAINWRIGHT
I really enjoy most of their line, but if I had to choose I would say the 16,21 and Campfire a truly unique product that really worked for me.I would also have to say on a side note that the Double Rye's spice really works nicely in a Manhattan! sailor22
The 21, wish I had bunkered more. Bourye and Campfire are also tasty.
Josh
Rendezvous and the original Bourye are both very good. I had the 16 y/o rye years ago but it was fantastic.
Low West
Another vote for the Campfire. So unusual, and really nohting like it out there. More of a Fall/Winter pour though. Not a lot of mention of the Silver Oat which is great in the Summer as just a sipper, or even to mix. Lastly the 16 yr (which I have about all of three drops left, and no where to be found) is great for that night where you just want somthing that's a cut above the rest. Overall you will most likely enjoy all the expressions. Just some more than others. Cheers!

smokinjoe
Y'all have convinced me to buy and try the Campfire. Will be opening the bottle tonight. 50:50 that you end up liking it, TT. It's such an incredibly weird whiskey, that I wouldn't bat an eye if someone spit it out! But, it sings to me. My favorite HW whiskey.
sailor22
What batch number? Recently seen the "XO" batches here in Georgia. The XO refers to Extra Oak as it went back into a barrel for additional aging before release.
mbroo5880i
I am thinking about buying an HW offering. I know of one Bourye ($65) that is available. A little more than I would like to go but since it is no longer available, would it be a good one to grab? I keep thinking that I can blend my own bourbon/rye for significantly less cost and using similar or better base components. I also know of a Double Rye ($35) and Rendevous Rye ($55). Given the price and availability, which would be a good one to try? I like high rye bourbons and straight ryes (WT101, Ritt BIB, Baby Saz). ChainWhip
Grab the Redezvous for sure... You could make your own bourbon:rye blend but that HW Bourye is pretty good. Edited November 23, 2013 by ChainWhip
snifred
Never had anything but Campfire and I love it. Had some with two buddies - one loved it, one hated it. Not much middle ground on that one. Been debating rendezvous for a while and all the praise of it here might make me get one.
TunnelTiger
My Campfire bottle is batch 6 bottle 783, no mention of XO. As for the tasting WOW! My first impression was a very smooth blended scotch and the aftertaste a sweet rye. I was only going to have a single pour and it rest but couldn't resist several before I put it away. Thanks to SB members for the recommendation and a thumbs up on this one. Batch 6 - that is an early one (as they've moved to a more traditional batch/dating system with the year/month/day format).
DaveOfAtl
My favorites are also Campfire and Rendezvous. Campfire is one of the most unique whiskeys out there, IMO. And, maybe it's just the marketing at work, but Campfire is my go-to drink when hanging out by the fire-pit out back. Haven't heard of that XO version, Bruce, but will be on the lookout. bjbronwyn
Thanks guys for all your input, I don't know wether the campfire is really for me. I recon there is a cocktail bar in town that's owned by the state manager who gets the stuff, so I might see if I can get a pour! Im glad most of you enjoy the Rendezvous, I think its very good, maybe not as good as my Baby Saz, but good nonetheless!
jersey12
This thread has pushed me to finally pull the trigger on a rendezvous. Looking forward to cracking it open soon.
FlounderinDC
I'm going to try to get the Rendezvous soon. I opened a bottle of the APR last night...I didn't like it was much as I hoped I would. It was a little thin and fleeting, but I did find it was better with a cube. Not terrible but just not amazing. TunnelTiger
Still amazed when I read posts concerning sales. I have to assume these are large chains that probably get a discount on their purchases whereas the small stores out in the sticks don't.
