Isn't that the group that guarantees a certificate to anyone who's check clears?

In Chicago you pay for the chance to take the test ($450) but you still have to pass it to get the cert. So I'd recommend studying for a year or so, don't want to pay $450 and fail.

seems kind of a subjective area for testing purposes, unless you only need know the history, locations of manufacture, mashbills, basic profiles, etc.

Of course, several of the whiskeys listed on the bourbon list aren't bourbons. I guess you still need to know about them so that you can differentiate them from bourbons?

There was a thread on this bonehead's site, picking apart some of the things that are just plain wrong. Gems like where he defines what makes a "bourbon" it says "Usually in new, charred white oak barrels". Well, I guess it doesn't always have to be "white oak", but it ALWAYS has to be in new, charred oak containers. And their "bourbon" list includes some rye whiskey, Tennessee Sour Mash, etc.

What scares me is that someone out there has probably sent this guy money.

Send me your money and I'll send you a certificate naming you the Grand Poobah of Bourbon or anything else you desire.

I once signed up for a tradeshow and listed my title as Grand Poobah. I still occasionally get mailers addressed to me as such :.)
