Sasquatch
Just picked up the very last handle of HH white and green (with the Barton no longer 6 year) at my local and now that I'm home I notice there is no age statement of any kind. Anyone notice anything similar?
MyOldKyDram
There was mention of this in the other thread, but never any f/u that I saw. If true imma marching. #milliondrunkmarch anyone?
Sasquatch
I kid you not, just left LB and not only was the shelf cleared but the one bottle left has no indication of anything age related outside of the BiB statement. First time buying a 1.75 so I don't know if that's always the case. Sent from my SGH-T999 using Tapatalk

WAINWRIGHT
I have found that the handles to be switched to NAS,but all the 750's still have the age stated moniker I've found.I have heard this rumor for quite some time as well,so every time I'm in Kentucky I buy a case or two,so I'm sitting pretty good on the stuff for the time being. It truly is a shame if this holds true, because I don't think there is a better bargain out there and the black and gold label is pretty rough in comparison. 393foureyedfox
check the back of the label. on the 1.75's, it nowhere on the front says anything about an age, but on the back label it does say aged 6 years. its been this way for a while. I've looked it up and down, the only thing close to an age statement is "Time Tempered".
fishnbowljoe
There have been rumors floating about for at least the last eight months or so, that HH might possibly discontinue the 6 yr BIB. When I inquired about this, I got neither a denial, or a confirmation. You be the judge of what that might mean.
393foureyedfox
I still say that the point of EWBIB going nationwide is to do away with the HH 6 year BIB. I'd bet on it.

393foureyedfox
I don't really follow your thinking here as the HH 6 BIB was only available in 6 states I believe so it's not about volume in that sense.I would be more prone to say that under the boom they are looking to the future and using these stocks for future releases of EWSB or something along those lines and the stock has to be pulled from somewhere before it becomes an issue. WAINWRIGHT
I don't see the need for the HH Gold BIB any longer either as the EW carries the name and the selling power behind it.I can honestly say that I won't miss the Blk/Gld label in the least, the EW BIB is just ok and the HH 6yr BIB was a staple in the line of value picks,it will be missed for sure. Sasquatch
Wouldn't it seem more likely for HH to discontinue or drop the age statement from Virgin first?Sent from my SGH-T999 using Tapatalk
squire
Virgin is such a limited distribution brand changing it wouldn't have much of an impact, not like the EW labels.

TheNovaMan
I've heard it's the same as Old Ezra 7/
393foureyedfox
Ezra 7/101 is decent but not worth nearly twice the price of the very similar HH 6/100.
TheNovaMan
Here in MI, EW BIB is $14.96 and Ezra 7/101 is $15.99. Somehow, I haven't gotten around to trying the Ezra 101 yet...

squire
Virgin is about the same as HH 6 year BIB, just one year older and slightly higher proof. Oh yeah, and it's cheaper than HH.
Brisko
Don't forget Fighting Cock (assuming it's still available and age stated)
MyOldKyDram
All of the ones I saw yesterday were still age stated. Although there wasn't that many. And that's no guarantee that they'll have age statements tomorrow.

And that's no guarantee that they'll have age statements tomorrow.I ordered a case of it the other day, for two reasons. One, I am worried about it being d/c'ed, and want a stash of it here. Two, I wondered if I ordered a fresh case of it and waited for it to be delivered, would I be told that it was d/c'ed early that way.It came in yesterday, and I promptly opened the box before paying for it. Same stuff as always, still says "6 years old" on it, unlike the deceitful "6" the Barton just pulled on us.So, at least right now, it is still available and still 6 years. If they change this one, I doubt they will make it NAS, they will instead just discontinue it altogether. HH already has a NAS BIB (the gold label).I still think it's going to go away in the not-too-distant future, and plan to stockpile more of it. That, and the 90 proof 6 year green label, as I've enjoyed that a lot this week. At $100-130 a case, it's a cheap stockpile for an age stated good bourbon.I hope I am wrong........
