Less emphasis on chasing limited beer and whiskey, and more emphasis on enjoying and sharing what I have stashed. Concentrate more on my hombrewing.

The more bourbon I drink, the less beer I brew. Seems like a fair trade.

My resolution is to figure out how many damn bottles I have. I've lost track. When I joined SB this time last year, I only had 30 bottles max, and most were open. Now I'm completely clueless as to exactly how much I have, and I feel overwhelmed every time I'm in the room with my stash, like I lost my marbles or something. So many bottles I've been meaning to get to. A large part of the problem is that my bunker is in one state and most of my opens are in another.

I was in the same boat as you Kaveh. Then, I broke down and actually started a spreadsheet and realized I had a lot more than the 30 - 40 bottles I thought I had. I don't think I will do that again for a while. Ignorance is bliss...

Yeah, I just did this.. Quite the eye opening experience, especially when you figure out you have 32 of the same bottle and all you can think is why..

I don't have 32 of the same bottle but my spreadsheet tells me that I have too many bottles!

I plan to do 3 things:

1. stock up a few cases of HH6 100 and 90

2. grab as many Dickel 9/103's as I can get

3. Work my way through some of these open bottles that I dont plan to replace, so I can focus on what I like........if i can just have HH6 90, HH6 BIB, Dickel 9/103, KCSB, Bookers, and OGD 114, I would be fine

I need to broaden and deepen my American whiskey library.

I want to better organize, store, and present my bunker. It has long overflowed from the house cabinets into the garage cabinets and now into boxes everywhere.

I want to build a nice and safe shelves or showcase for the bunker.

At the same time and although my wife know all about it, I am not sure if it is wise to present and expose it all in one view though.

Trim the fat on my current stash, meaning drink up those I don't necessarily see myself buying again in 2014. Stock up on some of the lower-cost juice I've enjoyed but take for granted every time I visit the store. And most importantly, spend wisely. I was "just okay" at that last year but I'll give myself some benefit of the doubt.

This is exactly what I need to do as well.

Use some cheap kitchen cabinets as a base then put shelves on top. The cabinets would let you hide some bottles. Out of sight, out of mind! Something like Menards (or the equivalent) that carries the cheaper cabinets would be perfect, otherwise there are some decent websites.
