I was looking at some Booker's in a local shop, and the bottles show batch number C06-K-8. Is this what others are currently seeing on the shelves?

A five or six-year-old bottle in my bunker shows batch number C02-A-18.

I used the search function, but I can't find a thread that discusses how to decode the batch number information in terms of when it was made or bottled.

TIA for any help you can provide on this topic...

The only thing I know is that the C & B refer to the two locations of Clermont and Boston,I believe the other numbers only refer to the batch # as it was dumped.Multiples batches are dumped and released at a given time.

I've always assumed that the numbers that looked like a year were just that. Here are a couple of threads that discuss it. The first one apparently confirms it.

I have better luck with Google searches as opposed to using the site's search function (eg. (bookers batch number site:straightbourbon.com).)

Thanks for the info guys. :thankyousign:

Based on the linked thread, the bottle I own is from 2002 and the ones I saw in the shop are from 2006. Any special reason to pick up these bottles from 2006?

BTW, the 2002 is 130.1 proof and the 2006 is 130.4.

Not unless you like that particular batch. Only you know what you like.

my X-mas bottle is a C06-B-15.

I took it as a May 15 2006 barreling date, since is is stated as 7 years and 30 months old, that would work out about right

Is 7 years, 30 months the same as being 4'26" tall?

Does anyone know how to determine what batches are better?

I would assume anything around 8 years old would be best, but I have thoroughly enjoyed 7 year old juice that is at least 130 proof.

Does a 9 year old Booker's exist?
