Blantons, Bookers, Bakers, Basil Hayden.

I'm thinking I should like the Blantons as it's from Buffalo Trace

and the Basil Hayden as I DO like the OGD line?

Bookers is fantastic, Bakers is good. BH....watery, Id much rather have the cheaper and better OGD line. Never had Blanton's yet.

I'm definitely a fan of Blanton's and Booker's. Basil Hayden, not so much.

Do you like the OGD line?

Basil is overpriced, underproofed, and now not even age stated. The others are delicious.

The first three have been getting a good amount of love here recently. BH just loses it because it's supposed to be the premium version of OGD but just doesn't measure up when compared to the regular lineup. I thought it was fine when I tried it, but not worth the premium price.

Blanton's is one of my favorites and I always have an open bottle. However, I drink it judiciously because it is expensive for what it is. ETL and AAA10 are also BT/Age International products that are very similar to Blanton's but significantly cheaper. Unfortunately, ETL has been more difficult to find in some areas while AAA10 is being discontinued. I wonder where those barrels are going?

Basil Hayden? While not just buy the real thing...OGD...for 1/2 the price.

Booker's is good but again kind of expensive for what you get.

Yeah, what he said.

I really like Blanton's, I just think it is very expensive for what it is. I refuse to buy Basil Hayden's considering its proof/cost. They are ruining good OGD juice by watering it down way too much.

I got Baker's recently the first time in a long time and I thought it was much better than I remembered it. Very tasty. I got a bottle of Booker's at the same time because their prices were both getting jacked up a couple days later. Haven't opened the Booker's. I used to really love it, but that's when it was older. Still looking forward to cracking it open.

I enjoy all of the "Bs", even Basil Hayden... If someone else is buying it. Tasty stuff but seems about $15-$20 too expensive.

I like them all, especially Blantons, though I have no use for the empty bottle.

I understand the though behind Basil but don't care for the result.

Blanton was my first entry into bourbon. I had liked it and still do. Haven't bought any for a long time because of other choices but if I am out, I usually settle for Blanton.

I have quite a few of the blantons stoppers in my liquor cabinet, no idea what to do with them though.

You are supposed to drill holes in a board and line up all the little horsey stoppers in order so they spell Blanton's.

Echo the sentiment that they are all good, save the Basil's. Given that in most bars that's what you're going to get, they may not get discussed much because they are so readily available. Perhaps something we are all take for granted that may not be down the road...

I used to really like Basil - before I discovered higher proof drams. This was a co-workers favorite pour, and I found it more fruity (citrusy?) than other bourbons, and I liked that about it. But since - haven't been a fan (despite loving OGD 114). Also not a big fan of Blantons at the current price point. Maybe the few I've had just weren't that great. Bookers is definitely my favorite of them.

I think it's funny that all of them are getting praise except Basil, yet Beam claims it's surging in sales/popularity.

I wonder what would happen if they put 114 in a fancy bottle...

Product placement and a huge advertising budget may be the driver. Full page color ads in everything from sports to car magazines.

Basil's is too watered down for me. I do like Blanton's, but like others question if it's worth the price. (Haven't had the others).
