Paradox
How about the fact that too many bottlings are export or duty free only? I know, someone had to come up with a smartass answer right Bob?
Bob
Well export only and duty free only is without a doubt BS!
bluesbassdad
Bob, I've given this matter all of 15 seconds of thought, and I've arrived at the following, plausible explanation. The Bourbon forum is for folks such as Chuck, Jim, Jeff, Bettye Jo, Bobby, Omar, Cliff, etc., who actually know what they are talking about. OTOH, I expect I will be making considerable use of the Bourbon BS forum. Seriously, I will be curious to see whether my next bourbon-related post passes muster in the Bourbon forum. As an example, consider the following, in regard to a bottle of Blanton's. If I were to comment on the bourbon itself (taste, color, mashbill, distillation technique, warehousing method), then I'd post in the Bourbon forum. If I were addressing the posture of the horse and jockey on the stopper, I'd probably deal with that here in the Bourbon BS forum. If the issue were marketing, distribution, pricing, etc., then I'd have to flip a coin. Yours truly, Dave Morefield
jeff
Dave, You are right on in your examples about Blantons. The BS forum is really about all the stuff that's "fun" about bourbon, I.E. WAYDN, pictures of collections, discussions about personal favorites etc. The general forum should still be fun, but more on-topic to the bourbon itself. And don't worry, we won't publically criticize anyone until their second error in placement
Dave_in_Canada
If the issue were marketing, distribution, pricing, etc., then I'd have to flip a coin. For issues relating to marketing, these should definitely be in the BS forum! Dave the marketing guru
jbutler
Dave, et al.This forum is predominantly for discussing issues of bourbon enjoyment, not brand specific topics. The name and description of the "general" forum will change in the near future to accurately reflect it's purpose. njm
You mean General Bourbon is not a friend of General Nelson?
