whiskeyagonzo
A co- worker and I will be in Knoxville Super Bowl Sunday. Any recommendations from the good folks on here? Thanks.
SingleBarrel
Try the Stock & Barrel. It's in Market Square downtown. Here is a website link: http://www.thestockandbarrel.com/Have a good time!Dave
docbible
The largest selection of bourbon will be down town market square at the stock and barrel. They have good burgers as well. thestockandbarrel.com. There is a wine bar beside "Bistro by the Tracks" that has a few good bottles. I drank son of bourye there a few weeks ago. Most of the others will be JD, JB, and MM as the premium. Might be better to pick up a few bottles at McScrooges. Not a lot of places catering to bourbon fans in Knoxville. Baker Peters Jazz Club has closed. They did have a good selection of premium bourbons. I'm sure there are others that are slipping my mind. If I think of any others I will post back. tim

I remember the bar having a pretty good selection.
docbible
It was in the old city section. I had been in the cigar part a few years back, but not the bar side. It may still be open. I'll try to google it and give them a call to check. tim
docbible
I called Old City Cigar (865-851-9526) and they are still open, but they said the bar with the good bourbon selection next door had closed. There is a speakeasy in the Oliver hotel near market square that you should avoid. Awful, overpriced drinks and food. Nothing even close to patterson house in Nashville. tim Edited January 13, 2014 by docbible
whiskeyagonzo
Thanks for the info fellas. Looks like I will give Stock & Barrel a try. Maybe if there is time we can slip over to Nashville one night while we are there.

theglobalguy
With a company credit card anything is possible. ;-)Hell, rental car...1hr 20min tops. Check out McScrooge's in West Knoxville if you get a chance. Haven't been in a while, but an entire wall of tough to find scotch, and usually have some great store pick bourbons. whiskeyagonzo
Fantastic. I will definitely have to do that. Also planning on working in a visit to the FR GS either on the way there or the way back. Hell maybe both. :-) Thanks for the tip.
SingleBarrel
Another place you might want to try in Knoxville is a speakeasy called the Peter Kern Library. Just a short walk from Market Square, down an alley with red light above an unmarked door. Alternative entrance is from within the Oliver Hotel lobby. Again, an unmarked door, but ask a hotel employee. Great craft cocktails, but no food there.
