Ok today I was at a local liquor store.. The owner mentioned to me he was on a list and was going to be able to get a couple of Bottles of a Special Booker Noe Bourbon.. I am well aware of regular Booker's having had it many times in the past.. I did a Google search and all the info I found seemed to be about the current Booker's.. Does anyone know anything about a Limited Edition or Special Bottling of Booker's due out some time this year?? It sounded like it was very limited and more expensive then the regular bottling of Booker's 7 Year Old Small Batch..Thanks in advance for any info.. Creggor

I remember reading over the fall, I think it was, that there was a special selection being planned for Bookers. Seems like the batch number was not like the usual number (the usual being written as c06-b-15), but was something like 2013b. I havent seen any yet though

at $100, I think Id just grab two regular 'ol Booker's and a cheap lunch, as I really like Booker's as is, and dont think an extra 2.5 years in the barrel would really do it any favors. But I would try it if I saw it at a bar/restaurant, just to satisfy my curiosity.

Ok I called my store back and the owner told me he was very limited in the number of bottles he was going to be allocated. This is a decent size store and he was going to get three bottles.. I feel it has to be this 25th Anniversary Booke'rs etc.. Thanks again for the help..

Yeah, it is going to be $100 MSRP. Rumor has it that it will be 10 years old.

Interesting. Wasn't Booker Noe pretty adamant about liking his bourbon in the 6-7 year old range?

Of course, he also was vehemently opposed to single barrels and over-9 year-olds. I suppose it's like the introduction of lower proof Old Fitz after Pappy died.

I am sure he is rolling in his grave now...

It is most likely 10 years old because the video states that it is the last of the barrels that Booker Noe had made and he died 10 years ago.

I'd have to watch it again but I think they said they were filled in 2003, so yeah.

$100 for this special eh? Well, when I got up this morning I felt pretty special and it didn't cost anything so I think I'll drink some Old Grand Dad instead.

squire, the best thing about you is that you see it and tell it like it is. I wish everyone was like that

I think that was just the round-table batch. Would like to know if he selected the 25th Anniversary as well.

Indeed! I didnt know there were two versions. Puzzled why they didnt put it on the web site. Or did I miss that too?

Has anyone done a blind SBS with the roundtable and a bottle of closer to 8 yr old Bookers? Just curious if it is markedly better or not.

I was involved with two roundtable selections but those are standard-issue Booker's, not a limited edition except in the sense that every batch is finite. I haven't heard anything about an anniversary edition but it seems inevitable.

I know each batch varies somewhat, but do you think the roundtable selections are noticeably different/better?

  • 2 weeks later...

I noticed this morning that an online retailer in Colorado had the Booker's 25th Anniversary available for $100 (actually, $99.99). There were 12 bottles listed in his inventory this morning. When I went to check again during my lunch break, 3 were sold, and only 9 remained in the online inventory. PM me if you want the website info.

The PR agency responsible for launching the Booker's 25th say it's not supposed to be released until early next month, but I have received documented evidence of sightings in Illinois and elsewhere. They're trying to figure out what's going on. Probably a case of one hand (sales and marketing) not knowing what the other hand (distribution) is doing.
