My dad is on vacation, and I gave him a list of items to keep a look out for that I cannot buy locally.

He just sent picture from a store and they have Weller Antique 107, and Weller Special Reserve. I know there is big love for the 107, and I have the 12 year at home. I was going to have him pick up a 107, but didn't know if the SR is better.

Quick thoughts are appreciated! Thanks.

My order of preference of the current stuff out there is 107 > 12 Year > Special Reserve. The latter is nothing I'd make room for in a suitcase. Just my opinion, of course.

Special Reserve is so called because they had to think up a name for the lower proof stuff. My preferences are the 10/107, the 7/107, the 107, then all the rest.

Holy Cow...Just talked to my dad and said he stopped at another store and found a Stagg and VW LotB. I said yes please to both! Can't wait for them to return from vacation!

The good news is that he was leaving today for S. America for a fly fishing trip, so I think the bourbon is safe. The problems is I have to wait that much longer to get it my hands!
