Just got my morning email alert from Caskers, which included an offer for John Myer bourbon, a one year old whiskey for just $39.99! Cashing in bonds at lunch today to sweep up 3-4 cases of this fine juice. :slappin:

Yes, as long as it meets the legal requirements and spends some time in a new oak barrel it is bourbon. There is no minimum age.

Yes, if it's made with 51% corn and placed in a new charred oak barrel it can be called Bourbon. It must age for a minimum of 2 years before it can be labeled Straight Bourbon. A Straight Bourbon that is less than 4 years old must have an age statement and older age stated Bourbon (6-8-10-12) cannot list an age greater than the youngest Bourbon in the mix.

Second the Hudson Baby Bourbon. Tasted it once and I'd never buy a 375 ML bottle at the price they're asking.

Hudson is maybe the worst bourbon I've had considering the price (I don't think I would buy it again at any price), but the most absurd offering I saw was a store that had priced their Eagle Rare 10yr (current bottling) like it was ER17 (and had it displayed in the locked cabinet). I asked someone behind the counter if they might want to check on that, and their response was "But it says 'rare' right on the label? Pretty sure that is where it belongs." I smiled, nodded, and went about my day.

jeebus, I bought into a bottle of Las Vegas Distillery Nevada Whiskey First Historical Edition Founded 2011 ... for I guess about $45.

The two together so far I'm not quite sure. I'll keep ya posted as they age a little
