I just discovered a box with 3 Ardbeg Tens, 2 Baby Saz, and 3 ECBP in a not used much room in my house. Could this be getting out of hand? Or should save this question for when I'm pinned under 10 cases in a house full of whiskey with only enough room to get from the bathroom, kitchen and front door?

Sounds like you found an actual "dusty room." I have heard of those, with exquisite crown moulding, handmade doorknobs, wavy glass, and the occasional bottle of bourbon under a loose floorboard. Enjoy it. They don't make rooms like that anymore.

Nothing left to do but lock yourself in and drink your way out

Couldn't have been too dusty if it had ECBP in there (unless these were Gift Shop bottles). I do remember a moment where I stashed several bottles in a hallway cabinet while I was reorganizing and I forgot to move them back. When my wife found them a couple days later I think the scales started to tip towards "intervention" mode.

Boxing stuff up and forgetting about it is fun. Especially stuff you don't plan on drinking for a while. I periodically fill a box and stash it away. That way it is out of sight and out of mind. This has the added benefit of making space for more whisky in the "drinking" area of my stash. Which I promptly fill thereby repeating the cycle. My fear is one day I'll have to move it all and those boxes are the ones that movers always seem to lose for some reason.

I'll be doing some dusty hunting at home today. It's that time again for a thorough cleaning and inventory of my cabinet.

If my memory gets much worse, I will someday be having a joyous home dusty hunt......that is, if I would be able to remember where they were. Some are in the cellar, some in various spots in the garage. With a significant stash of KCSB, Dickel 9/103 and HH6BIB, those might be great finds in the future, especially it the latter falls to the rumor mill of discontinuation.
