Renegator
Has anyone bought and tried this yet? I'd love to see some tasting notes on it. I have seen it around Atlanta but not sure if it's worth the price tag. Thanks in advance.

docbible
I have never been one that is talented at describing the details of what I taste in bourbon. This one is flat and unremarkable, nothing special to justify the price other than an experiment or gimmick. I put it into glad I tried it but would not buy another list. I would recommend sampling at a bar if you can find it only for the experimental value. I would have liked to have compared it to a sister barrel that remained in the barrel house and did not take the trip. That way one could truly say if agitation over x time added to the whiskey making it a better product worth the added expense. If it started as crappy juice it may have helped, but probably not much, who knows? Tim
jeffrey r
A friend brought a bottle to a party the other night. I enjoyed it, I guess partially because I wasn't paying for it. It wasn't remarkable or anything, but it was enjoyable. I won't be buying a bottle though.

Crowes
Any of you guys been to that bar in the video?I had dinner there when I went to visit some distilleries last Spring. Had a good meal, but a great drinking experience. It was slow, and the bartender brought out all sorts of bottles for me to try, a lot of free samples. And they have an amazing selection. Highly recommend.
tanstaafl2
Any of you guys been to that bar in the video?I suppose it is a mainstay on the bourbon cicuit in Louisville. I have been there a couple of times but never had a chance to stop in when it was slow. I didn't find anything remarkable about the Ocean II but still think the Ocean I was excellent and better than the newer version. They are of course almost certainly from a different source as well. The II was OK but no better than others I have tried at a similar or even younger age. The original tasted more mature well beyond the claimed age of around 4 years and had no residual new make flavor to suggest it was still young. It was as good or better than bourbon twice that age or more. But I have not been able to identify any "brine" character from either of them. Might be there but I don't pick it up. KyleCBreese
I tried the bottle I bought and to me it tastes exactly like regular Jefferson's Very Small Batch. I couldn't taste any difference and for double the price, it doesn't make sense.
