Time for a dump

Discussion in another thread of when the next batch of ETL might be released got me to thinking about the bottling schedule at distilleries. What is the rationale behind when the different iterations are dumped? Demand in the market? Location in the rickhouse? Out with the old to make room for the new? Age stated before the beauty of NAS?

Good title for a thread. With the pressure of increased production I should think making room in the warehouse would be high on the list.
